From reading the reviews that have been published so far it really seems that the new RS can be considered a complete hot hatch (chassis & all) compared to the Mk1. Looks like it holds the corners nicely in the video Leon posted too.

Like the silver combi. Understated but nice.

Race blue really suits the Fabia vRS, a little disappointed I can't have a black roof, but I actually think it looks better without now :)

Besides, it will save me £400 odd quid!

Can anyone tell me ....

1/ whether the race blue paint will be on top of the basic £15700?

2/ whether manual air con is the same as climatic?

3/ whether you have to pay extra for wheel colours apart from the silver alloy?

4/ how much leather seats would cost?

You beat me to it there bingo765! I was just going to ask when the option prices would be out - I presume nearer the time. I notice in some of the press photos there are climate units, better stereo etc, and it would be nice to know the paint/wheel costs.

List price of £15700 is only a starting point. If you want metallic paint with a different roof you can add the best part of £800. I dont know why I complain about the price because I've never paid list price for a new car before. I would expect to get £1.5 to £2k off when all the fuss has died down.

Yellow estate for me please :thumbup: somehow the tall sides of the Fabia seem less obvious in estate guise. Obviously thats the one to buy... you try and find anything else for the money new with the practicality and performance of a VRS Estate... I just cant afford it :'(

The DSG is pretty damn good too, I don't see why you'd not want it in the car - it's so smooth and it works! I had more trouble with the flappy paddles (which are standard in the Fabia) in the Octy than I did just having it on auto - you just don't notice the changes.

I'd be interested in the ordering process - so you paid a "small?" deposit and when the options are priced up you can make amendments to your order and then it's final - you just await delivery? Any news when that would be? August?

Climate control is a £260 option on the rest of the Fabia range.

Looks like the Skoda UK dictators aren't letting us chose the Amundsen satnav system which you can get in Europe unfortunately but the Swing looks much nicer than the old Dance unit in the pre facelift Fabia and the RS has MDI as standard too.

Got a Volvo automatic already, don't want a small automatic, want proper gears. Mind you the missus hates these anyway. Put a thread on the general car chat last week, the fabia MKII is one of the cars she has refused to drive on the basis that "It's not cool. It's a grandad's car and I'm not driving it".

I hardly think the VRS is a grandad car :giggle:

Well that's what the missus, and the 18 yr old stepdaughter think. Apparently less cool even than the smoke bomb that is the MKI vrs. Looks like it's on stilts apparently. Like I say I kinda like the estate now, but you can say another Skoda is definitely off the cards, coz I took a MKII Octy VRS diesel for a test and that was absolutely gutless.

Possibly... Customer orders will be built at the earliest week30. I reckon you are looking more like end of August, if you get some of the very early orders in although I suspect most dealers are going to order 2 cars for stock/showroom and that will delay customer orders slightly.

The grey estate looks awesome, will defo be going for a test drive!

Friends of mine have just bought a new Seat Exeo estate with all the toys for £19k, saved £5k off list price. If Skoda decide to put a 2.0 TDI in the vRS estate i'll be a happy man!
