How about buying a set of wheels with tyres (someone was selling a set in the for sale section for

Couldn't you use the spare with one new tyre of same type ad keep the nearly new one as the spare?

Sorry - forgot to mention that the car had run on the tyre and they recon had damaged the side wall - I saw the inner ridges had worn away in a ring about 15mm around the sidewall, so I can only assume the tyre dealer was telling the truth. Because they are directional and if you use it on the wrong side of the car, it's not safe to drive at high speed.

Got 4x215/40/16 Toyo T1R's of mytyres.

Also does anyone know why the spare wheel is rated at 50MPH when it's got the same tyre as the other wheels?

As the spare, it could be fitted to either side of the car, as needed. But it has a directional tyre which should only really go on one side of the car. So there's a 50% chance of it running 'backwards', hence the speed limit.

I just f*cked up my tyre/alloy on a kerb

115 quid for new conti and the refurb.

Couldnt really complain at that price, i'm gonna take the current spare and stick that on the front with the new one and take the tyre off the other side and use that for the spare

Wouldnt mind an alloy as my spare though, maybe i'll buy one in the future!

Just a thought but has anyone tried the much praised Michelin Exalto 2 tyres that were specifically designed for the Clio 182 cup?

They are suppose to transform the handling with stiff sidewalls? They are the same size for the clio sport as th furby vRS. Might be worth investigating.

The Fabia is around 30% heavier than the clio so this may not be such a good idea if the tyres were designed specifically for the clio.

Gonna try & get this size next, as they are a more popular size, hence cheaper.

Much cheaper :D
