Why would any dealer give these away, we are only going to get 3 retail units this year.

Some dealers must be very desperate for deposits.

Is that the maximum number of vRS's you will have to potentially sell on your forecourts this year ,if that's the case, we are all going

to have to wait an awful long time if we want to order one.

From what I've heard, customers ordering other skoda models are having to wait 3/4 months for delivery!

Is that customer specific orders or assigned units ?

If dealers are only going to get three cars until the end of the year, why is there the need to offer such attractive finance rates?

I'm certain the dealers will sell every vRS they get their hands on so cannot see the internet brokers being able to get their hands on a car!

The dealer I'm buying off also advises they are getting only 3 vRS this year and next year the total number nationwide will be 1500, so the car will have a rarity value and as such will command high prices!

#Had the VAT free deal been available I'd have had a one, but don't want to stretch to £16k for the car, that because I'm a tite ar5e!!

I wouldn't believe all that sales tripe cos that's all it is!

Very clever marketing I would say :)

Customers aren't stupid, no-one will pay over the odds for a vRS.

There will be plenty to go round, trust me.............you might have to wait a bit longer that's all :)

Whatever the dealer is selling that you show an interest in is always "in demand and everybody wants one". The vehicle you're trading in is "not popular or the wrong colour etc." Sorry for being cynical but it's true. I wouldn't pay a penny more from a dealer than the best internet price.

Couldnt agree more seems to be the most popular sales pitch they adopt. My dads recent citroen c1 was highly in demand and they could get them for love nor money. Funny the genetlemen that sold him his old fabia vrs said just the same.

There will be plenty of them about rest assured people. There always will be short supplie to start with. If you want demand TRY the 500 abarth, they are actually like rocking horse 5hit to get hold of.

Worth it though  & somewhat cheaper. The new Abarth Punto Evo out in a couple of weeks is around the same price as the Fabia, anyone who saw it at the Goodwood Festival of speed will know what a cracking car that looks

That's not always the case.

I don't talk down customers cars, if there is a fundamental reason why the part exchange is worth less than I will let you know why so you can avoid making the same mistake again.

With the majority of the Skoda cars at the moment they are all in demand and a lot of them suffering from prolonged delivery times, not all car salesman are sharks!

Yes but its a FIAT and we all know what FIAT stands for!

Say what you want but the Abarth 500 has been a cracking car, Had it 18 months & its still fun everytime I can prise it away from the missus , Ill get a spin in the Punto when it arives & see what I think, the big scare with that I think will be risuduals, the 500 is holding up really well but Punto values tend to fall through the floor

An even better offer is the Octavia VRS TFSI for £15480 on Drivethedeal.

Why are Skoda trying to get more for the Fabia VRS than dealers will sell the Octy VRS for? Who would pay more for a Furby than an Octy? What's the target market?

That's easy: single guys without families to taxi around and more spare cash

IMO Skoda have dropped a huge clanger with the new vRS. The list price is way too expensive, look what it competes with.

The old car was a performance/economy/price bargain and it shows as they hold their value so well. The new car will struggle to compete with say the much more desirable Seat Ibiza 2.0TDI FR (discounted).

Skoda seem to have been smoking something exotic to have taken what is after all a Mk1 chassis car that cannot accommodate the 2.0 CR diesel engine (the obvious successor the Mk1 vRS) and are now trying to mix it in a price bracket that offers some pretty tasty alternatives. The market seems already to be saying its real worth is around the £13k mark.

Plus the Mk11 car has always looked to high and narrow, some would say slightly gauche.

I am tempted by a a new Fabia vRS estate but at £16495 I can get an Octavia vRS for similar money...

Exactly, even in the Skoda range there are better choices for similar money even before discounting of established designs is taken into account. Skoda have lost the plot when it comes to the Mk11 Fabia vRS as they seem to have forgotten what made the Mk1 car such a commercial success, that one model of Fabia accounting at one point for over 25% of all their UK sales.

Yes but these are hard times... and not everyone wants a big car

But when you can get a bigger car cheaper than a little car...
