Someone being a little naughty me thinks!

Featured Replies

Was out and about today when i noticed something strange about the BMW 1series in front of me.... Took a few seconds then realised it was the number plate.

I'm assuming it was a dealer transferring a car to another dealership but they had no trade plates either front or rear. It was a young blonde haired lass driving the car wearing a black fleecy jacket the kind you see dealership staff wearing etc.... Car looked clean till you got close when you could see loads of polishing swirls as though it had been cleaned badly and definately not what you would expect a brand new car to look like.

Anyway this must be the earliest new reg spot ever just under two months away yet!!!!

The plot thickens..... :smirk:

Where was this as my sister works for BMW in Derby and it would be great if it turned out to be her! :giggle:

i still aint sure on what the reg numbers are going to be in next. 60 - i know now, but what comes after that, and after that?

lol

I tell ya what it could have been...... It was in Sheffield heading around the ring road and in all fairness she could have carried on to the next roundabout after i turned off and headed South to Chesterfield / Derby.

Let us know if it was her. :giggle:

Cheers

Dave.

Well, she ain't blonde, but I will ask her :D

The March reg will always be the last two digits of the year.... The September reg will be the year plus 50. Hence September 2010 reg is '60'.

Here's all the info regarding where a car was registered and the years etc....... CLICKY

Cheers

Dave.

That's a bit early! I'm pretty sure 60 plates can't be registered yet so that can't be right, and it doesn't come up on the reg database either.

nice one.

Well either way, it's well and truly illegal if it wasn't on trade plates. If you know which dealership it was from (written on bottom of the rear plate?) then I'd be tempted to drop them a copy of the picture in the post, asking for an explanation :) (oh, and some decent weekend long test drives!)

Suffice to say it doesn't come back with anything on the DVLA!

I thought about that..... Just had a look at the original big image and guess what.......... If you zoom in it looks as if the bottom of the plate is blank.... I can't remember if Sytner BMW in Sheffield use the small surrounds that have a little lip at the bottom with the Sytner name on it.

Wonder if South Yorkshire's finest would be interested in it???

The plot thickens even further!!!!! :o

Hmm thought it was also illegal to have a plate that didn't show where it was printed.

It could be stolen and on false plates if their's no trace with DVLA.

I'd go and show the pic to SY Police. Although please tell them you weren't driving and taking pics at the same time!

The mrs obviously took the picture from the back seat while i was driving. :)

Sept 2010 = 60

Mar 2011 = 11

Sept2011 = 61

Mar 2012 = 12

Sept 2012 = 62

etc.

I'm amazed that the Police haven't pulled that car already!

I would say it is worth passing on to the local police. Would bring in to question is there any sort of insurance on it?

Typical beemer drivers emoticon-0114-dull.gif

Very weird. Agree on passing it onto the Police, for all the good it will do.

I bought a 60 plate on the 1st of June this year, can't actually put it on anything yet but we own it!

60 11 61 12 62 etc

Sometimes it is not obviouse, they dont have to be printed on , if you have a private plate you do not want dealer sticker but if you look closely there will be an " etched" postcode of the place where they were made
