Superb Sales On The Up!

Featured Replies

Just read this in this week's Autocar..

"Sales of Skoda's cut-price limo are running 14 per cent ahead of target this year. Some 1776 saloons have been sold in the last 12 months alone"

I still have only ever seen two on the road though and I think one must have been a Skoda press car as it had the registration

S8 ODA...

Good news all the same.

I was overtaken by one on the M5 on my way to the NEC meet. Thats my one and only encounter. It was a diesel too :)

I've ever seen a handful - finance director at the dealer has a black 2.5TDI with 17's - bloody lovely it is!

One day maybe...

Saw my first Superb this morning at the train station. I had just parked when he arrived... Green, 03 reg, and if you ask me, you could just put a VW badge on it and pass it as a Passat. Except for the price tag ofcourse :)

Q.

I like it, looks more imposing than the passat, more A6 esque (not surprising as they share parts).

My local dealer has a lovely looking silver Superb in the showroom. I think its a 1.8T Comfort, but it has been there for quite some time. Sticker price is about 18k.

I reckon the diesel versions will sell the best, so maybe he has had trouble trying to shift it.

Maybe I can blag a test drive....

When I picked my Octy up from Gordon Lamb's last year, the salesman picked me up from the station in a PD130 - they had just received their first demonstrator.

I have to say I was well impressed.

Maybe next time - although I'm not sure if it would fit in my garage - they are an incredibly long car.

There is a 52 MY silver Superb in the village where I live. The next door neighbour to it has a 51 MY silver Octavia TDi, so I reckon its a classic case of being one up on the Joneses. (The Superb faces the road so probably has the bottom of the range engine.) :D

Hopefully this success means that VAG wont kill it off once the model life has run its course

i've seen many a superb (but then again i probably would !)

I didn't mention in my earlier post that I think the Superb looks every bit as good as the Passat - in fact I think I prefer its look.

4 Motion W8 next on the next Superb please Skoda!!...My dealer still has their 02 reg demo 2.5 TDi Comfort one in stock , I'm suprised it hasnt sold because its a nice drive. Maybe its the beige cloth that puts would-be owners off , as theres so much of it to try and keep clean!!

I saw one this morning, going between Rickmansworth and Watford on the 412, it was a met black taxi.

Okay, I thought I'd bump this thread back up for my first post.

I will be picking up a 10month old Skoda Superb 1.9TDi Classic in Nighfire Blue this Friday.

The only thing it hasn't got which I would have liked is Cruise control, not bothered about alloys, tho I may get some at some time. Its got Climate Control and a CD autochanger, and due to 20k plus milage, these are the two things I want/need most.

I found the car to be even quieter than my current Saab 9-5, so I am well pleased.

I have only seen 4 Superbs on the road, one was a Taxi, (saw that yesterday), and one was the one I test drove.

From what people say here, I look forward to being stared at by Passat drivers :D

Vince

Hi and welcome!

Enjoy your Superb. Starting to see a few more around Basingtoke; 2 at last count.

Cheers.

Adrian.

Welcome to Briskoda, Vince!

Another diesel owner enters the fold.

Howard

Hi, Vince, and welcome to Briskoda. Perhaps you would like to let us know in due course how the Superb compares with your Saab. You are certainly getting a lot of car for your money with the Superb, and the diesel engines do have a good reputation. :D

If Cruise is a Must/Need/Want. Talk to the Service manager at Trentam (Seat Dealer) in Hull.

They supplied & retro - fitted Cruise to my Octy for

I was at the dealer on Saturday and he sayed the Superb was selling brilliantly and that they are very happy. He didn't give me any figures however but seeing 3 brand new ones round the back indicates they are not telling porkies. I see a Superbs all the time, they are fast becoming the taxi drivers best friends and joining the Octavia's on the taxi rank. It is not uncommon in this part of the world to see ranks completely made up of Skodas.

Imagine the superb vrs in lemon yellow and 4wd and a rs6 engine!

I saw a brand new Audi A8 today, I have must say how much it looks like a Superb from the head on view. Oh how proud I feel now, knowing that the "premium marque" Audi have needed to copy my Superb to make their car half decent :D

Cheers

Andy

Welcome to Briskoda Vince! Do drop by regularly and keep us up to date on your car!

There is a black Superb just up the road from me (Kentish?) looks good, had a look in the local showroom - seems a very nice car.

Now to find a taxi and see how nice it is to ride as a passenger:D

Sorry m8, but I,m dark metallic blue. (you can always tell mine, as I have the "25" stickers front and rear screen and as yet no Briskoda skicker, which I must correct.

Cheers
