So what mileage have you got from your Superb?

Recommended Posts

220,000 miles here - 2005 PD 130 Auto Elegance. A1 condition inside and out (could literally pass for 50,000k miles easily). Some people bang on about the design faults on these cars, but I think mine speaks for itself. It's never had any major work other than servicing (and the usual suspension arms and CV joints) and runs perfectly, returning a consistant 48 mpg on my 60 mile round trip each day. Fantastic car IMHO.

I've had my 2003 1.9 130 comfort since almost new (ex demo car) I've done nearly 130k, I love it. no major problems had fault parking sensors which were changed under warranty, but have since failed again but not bothered about repairing them. engine and gearbox are "superb" and feel like they will go on forever. I suspect the clutch will need sorting soon.

I've had to change the offside CV joint and unfortunatel encountered the "pinch bolt problem".

Next job is the cam belt (sorry rotodeisel not got round to it yet as i've done my back in) and then offside wheel bearing sounds a bit noisy.

cheers

55,000 on my clock right now. The car is hardly being driven this year. I reckon I must have one of the lowest mileage ones around. Moving to the US in a year or so. I reckon I'll just keep it until then and sell it for peanuts probably. Too bad it's spotless and mechanically sound.

Low mileage at 55 000? I only have 16 000 miles...

And its a second hand car, I bought it with 6000 miles on the tacho.

What age is the car, sounds like some low mileage.................. :o

I will be travelling over to Brussels in April with the Superb, should add on another 1500-2000 miles with all the little excursions on the trip.......

My oldest Mk 1 a 130bhp Elegance is still working at 392,000.

Car has an oil change every month and new air and cabin filters every 3 months. Clutch is replaced every year together with new flywheel.

Apart from usual brake pads and disc and two indicator stalks all is well. Re cv boots I found that cheaper aftermarket ones are useless and split open after a few months. Since then I always use OEM gaitors and have these done with the clutch change.

The engine was remapped in 2007 by custom code and at around 150k the EGR valve was replaced with a bypass valve and the ECU modified accordingly.

Still on original wheel bearing alternator etc etc etc, Supremely reliable. Also on original injectors and Millers additive used each fill up......certainly paid dividends here as the car flies thru plating etc and also runs on bio fuel/diesel mix.

Drivers seat a little saggy with the right hand bolster somewhat squashed. Other than very regular servicing the car has been a dream to own and is still very reliable. The guy who drives it for me doesnt want a newer model and thats a testament to its reliability and condition. He washes n hoovers it every day and waxes once a month.

I just hope that my MK 11 will give equally good service. :D

my previous taxi was a merc vito which coudnt

hold a candle to the superb.

the taxi drivers around here have a saying.

"the only thing skoda on a superb are the seats"

i might keep it another four years .

mine is a bit like triggers broom as i have

bumped it several times but it still polishes up well :D

Clutch AND flywheel replaced every year :o How much does that cost? Still, if it's running 392k it must be worth it

Think it was about 800 or 900 quid for a new skoda clutch and flywheel inc fitting at my local skoda garage.

As my cars are working vehicles maitenance is a VERY HIGH PRIORITY!!!!!. Prevention is better than a cure. Nothing wrong with a service at 10k but some of my cars will do that in 6 to 8 weeks. What I want from my cars is total reliabilty....I've never had one recovered bar my new Superb which was an ECU failure and fixed under warranty.

I will not fit "cheap" tyres and will only fit Conti's, Uniroyal, Goodyear etc. With my local Kwikfit depot (whom I absolutely trust....hence 20yrs business from me) I have negotiated a better than on the web price. Same goes for servicing..have a deal with a local indy VW specialist...my drivers take their cars in and I pick up the tab knowing that everything is OK. I am also a stickler for cleanliness and will pull a car off the road till its been cleaned.

Net result....my cars earn me money and the chaps that drive them. My fleet is my investment and one that i take great care of..as indeed you guys should...top rate and frequent servicing will provide longevity with high mileage.

I have just had a Passat (130bhp PD) go thru the workshop for a full (i mean a full blown nit and comb service) and its has cost me a 1.1K inc labour......all filters changed, new oil for engine and g/box, overhauled unit injectors, recon glow plugs, cambelt and water pump, new coolant, brake fluid change, all discs and pads replaced, new clutch kit (has a single mass flywheel) 4 tyres and all done since saturday when it went in. Collect the car Tues am and then in for plating and MOT and 12 months RFL. Car is on an 03 plate and 286k. Not bad for a full days work for two guys working on it. Hate to think wot a stealer dealer would charge.
