black code vehicle remapping

Featured Replies

hi, just wondering if anybody has any opinions about these people, considering a remap :) all opinions welcome,

http://www.black-code.co.uk/index.html

thanks, jordan

Since I got the re-map from Black Code the flat spot caused by the EGR on the BLT engine has got worse. I contacted Black Code about this and they knew nothing about it, said they would look into it...nothing, although this was less than a week ago.

Just contacted Awesome. They said it would be £300 for an EGR delete or free with one of there custom maps.

I wish i went to Awesome!!

what a lot of balony in this thread!!!

rolling road's can't be used to prove bhp...

they give an estimate of power...

whats 5-10bhp anyways.... nothing

Thanks for that, knowing "that they just do" really provides strong evidence :wonder:

I've seen my ASZ out put more standard than my friends standard BLT - so that already proves in my own eyes "ALL" is incorrect.

Just seems like opinions to me.

Indeed. And mine is as valid as yours. The BLT engine you are basing your opinion on wasn't even in a Skoda, so how is that comparable?

Try JabbaSport. They have quoted me £60 to do the same thing or MoggyTech has a very simple mod that involves plugging the rubber actuation hose with a golf tee and it just as effectively disables the EGR valve.

because its the same bloody car with a Seat badge - Ibiza FR???? I didnt realise they use different components and output differs vastly with badges either?

Yours is an opinion though, not fact, which you led me to belive by saying All BLT's make more power than ASZ's

They are not the same car at all. There are quite literally hundreds of differences. They share the same basic chassis and many components are interchangeable but that doesn't mean they are the same.

SEAT had excellent reasons to make sure the PD130 in the FR was a 130bhp unit. Those reasons mainly revolve around the PD160 whose existence would be rendered somewhat pointless if it became apparent that the PD130 in the FR as near as darn it just as powerful.

As far as I'm aware the BLT engine in the FR130 doesn't stutter. Why not? If it's the same engine why does the vRS stutter and the FR130 doesn't? Possibly because they are not the same?

Shove a 5.5/6mm ball bearing in the EGR vacuum hose. Problem solved. Although they would have been able to get rid of the resultant engine check light when they were mapping the car. :S :(

Is this you're opinion again?

They share the engines...find me a component under the bay that differs.....I'll belive you if you do.

EDIT: For the smarts arses I mean other than the plastic engine cover.

AS A RULE 99.9% OF BLT ENGINES PRODUCE MORE POWER, THERE MAY BE A FREAK ASZ OUT THERE REPRESENTING THE 00.1% THE BLT ENGINE HAS A DIFFERENT THROTTLE BODY THAN THE ASZ AND IS GOOD FOR 10% MORE POWER.

sorry for interupting into your argument lol had to be done lol

Don't be sorry, same argument to you though, where has this been proven? all im asking....

EDIT: Also thought that they didnt have throttle bodies which is why boost gauges were fitted on the EGR delete mod.

I know they have a different EGR Valve which has more problems, but to my understanding that was all as it had to be done for emissions purposes.

lol ok im not sorry lol haha and it hasn been proven as such, but it seems to come up time and time again, and i really dont think anybody would make it up. theres more people on here with standard cars at 157 and 156 bhp as standard! NEVER has there been one ASZ RR and reported at being over 140. i know its very common for both engines to be producing more, but the BLT 99.9% of the time has more power, it hasn been proven as such, but just the sheer number of reports of the 150bhp blt that would make you believe that its true. when i was looking for my car about a month ago i drove a 04 black one which went wel dont get me wrong, i then flew to england to get my 06 silver one and it was noticibly quicker. both cars standard. i think its very cool the car supposedly being 130 lol and havin passed 150bhp gttdi golfs. :) doesn fly past it like but it goes past lol i like to believe mine is 160 standard lol haha

How do I know if mine's a BLT engine? as mine stutters and it's a 2007 VRS Registered in april 2007, I thought the BLT came in after 2006?

You deffo have the bacon lettuce and tomato

Change was 05 / 55

Check your v5 just to confirm

Only reason a vrs is beating a golf tdi 150 is power to weight

The 150 tubby is stronger / bigger than the 130 (obviously)

i know but still pretty impressive. and there cnt be that much diff between the fabia and the 3 door golf?

its all to do with power to weight so not soo impressive

for example a 106 1.6 gti will run with a bmw 330i 3.0l

Fabia weighs more than the PD130 Golf anyway. They're just that sporty! :giggle:

Its becoming more and more apparent that Fabias are able to defy the laws of physics

Well, not yours, obviously. Just the ones made since October 2005. ;)

haha ofcourse....ASZ's are just mere cars, but the BLT's well...my mother always says eat your veg and it'll make you big n strong, but I had no idea it could make the Fabia into such a performance vehicle.

BLT is the new BBX, clearly... :giggle:

No, nothing is faster than a 2.0l petrol Fabia. You can overtake like a king!
