Yeti spotting - result!

Featured Replies

A lady driver has a black one in Haverfordwest/Milford Haven but she never waves.

Saw a muscovado 1.2 DSG in Hawest yesterday. The back was full to the gunnels with touring equipment.

Skoda Hawest has 4 used Yetis for sale. I wonder why so many in a small dealership?

Kevin, you can only see the roof and bonnet of mine, and they are actually reasonably clean! The mud only sticks to the sides.

Just remembered I saw a Musci one between Bromfield and Onibury, and they waved!!

Nice to chat, and the hospitality - very enjoyable!!

En route Kidderminster, in Cleobury Mortimer , passed another light silver Yeti who is obviously a member of the club, we both waved!

Bon journee etc a tous

I waved at another Yeti-driver near Cleobury Mortimer yesterday afternoon... mine is aqua blue though. I was heading out to Clee Hill at the time. Was that you?

No, I was on my way home, so heading north up the A49 towards Craven Arms from Bromfield. Could have been Tony from the photos above as he was heading that way from the 'Box.

about 1pm?

yeap it was me!

thought the colour was pale silver, age does wonderful things to the sight! :smirk:

Picked up a Muscovado Yeti on the M62 heading East near Leeds this morning and we kept pace until the outskirts of Hull. Got a friendly smile from the woman in the passenger seat as they overtook me.

Driving from Corran Ferry (Nr Fort William) via GlenCoe, Callander, Stirling, M74, M6, M61, M60 on Saturday, 330 miles, and no fewer than ELEVEN Yeti going in the opposite direction. Not one waved (well, I wouldn't expect those on the motorways to do so) though had a cheery wave & a chat with a very nice chap who pulled along side at Annandale Services in his newly acquired 60 reg beast.

Saw at least 4 SM's during the fortnight on Isle of Mull, including a Red French one, but yet again not a single wave returned.

I think they are becoming too common now for newer owners to take interest - or is it that they are being bought by people who have done so because the publicity surrounding the various awards make it "cool" to own one?

Ah well, recognition by other owners was fun while it lasted!

Thinking about it, one possible reason for some of the "no wave returned" occurrences could be that in bright sunlight, the angle of the Yeti's windscreen causes reflections that obliterate the driver when seen from an oncoming vehicle. So your wave may not be seen by them!

5 today all on the A281 1 yeti urban and 1 red one this morning and 3 this afternoon within 5min getting lots of regular sightings now

Yep, sounds about the right time. Amusing, coming from an age where us Scooby drivers used to wave to one another. Still do actually :D

not the same in finistere, just one other local to me, others seen do not wave, get vacant looks etc hence the half hearted job yesterday, and also thinking of other things etc

Got a wave from the vicar in his red one yesterday.

Saw a red one parked up in morissons car park yesterday five lane ends Bradford.

Muscovado one in Sainsbury's car park in Otley, silver one going in the opposite direction as I drove along the dual carriageway bit of the A65 between Otley and Ilkley, and then a wave from the nice lady in the white one on the little roundabout in the centre of Baildon.

Look out for our red one Bobdog, we're moving back to Baildon soon. I always wave but never get one back. Must be my ugly mush. I sometimes get a "WTF" look :D

How strange that your in rawdon, I drive through there twice a day to work and back and I've never seen a red yeti around there.

I'll keep an eye out tho, I'll be in a candy white. ;-)

Hi Dinski, we're opposite Benton Park School, tho' Mrs G drives it to Baildon Mon-Fri. I've told her :)

I know that school, I visit it sometimes (albeit not done so recently).

If we've time before moving back (to Baildon), I'll be renewing my CBT at the PTW training school based there.

If you see a "care in the community" type riding a green Vespa, do wave :D

I can't promise to wave back, as I'm usually hanging on with a death grip induced by overwhelming fear.

Followed a white TDI 2wd from Todmorden towards Hebden Bridge this pm, right behind him but no acknowledgement. Still, hardly surprising since I was in the MG.

I saw one, just one on the M74 a couple of weeks ago when I picked mine up from Ayr and drove it back to Kent. That's 450 miles and only saw one of the blighters (in a light fern green colour).

Not going to post pics of my Beast just yet as it's filthy! Oh and we (family) are off to France on Monday, so have to give it a good clean for the trip.

Nahuna, if you don't mind my asking, where to ? Four weeks today we're off, staying just north of La Rochelle. Roll on.

2 today.

A white one between Llandinam and Llani on the A470, then a green one pulling out of Lidl's in Newtown.

D'ye know - this thread has had hundreds of thousands of viewers over time and seen dozens upon dozens of a Yeti in different places.

I, for one, cannot keep up with firstly recognising them at speed, and secondly waving my little hand at them, and thirdly, reporting that I have seen oodles of the things here there and everywhere.

There are MILLIONS of Yetis all over South Wales, and they're becoming as common as dirt........

A green, 61reg one on Broadstairs seafront earlier this evening, closest one to home yet(other than mine) the interest made the running less painful for a sec!

As promised:

I'm sure I've seen some TV ads about the risk of parking where it is parked
