Yeti spotting - result!

Featured Replies

I saw 2 around Ullswater on Thursday both 61 plate, one being a 1.4tsi, the other being silver.

A black one on Saturday near Coniston and 2 coming in to Grange over Sands on Sunday, almost following each other.

Only the black one waved back!

Never seen so many!!

A 60 reg White Yeti SE (? from the alloys) drove past my office window early this morning.

Beautifully clean and shiny, looking resplendent in the early morning sun.

Must be congregating in the Lakes, 2 in the small village of Braithwaite ( near Keswick) plus 1 that lives in Keswick on Sunday.

Recent trip to the Alps and back; saw 5 Yetis in France on the motorway on the way out, all with French reg plates, and 4 on the way back. Saw about the same number on the UK based part of the journey (M62, A1, M11, M25, M20) each way. Frequent sightings of quite a range of Yeti in and around Hebden Bridge, near where I live, and I get quite a few waves. Today popped into Tesco in Halifax for a few things. When I came out a black, 61 plate, 1.8TSI had parked beside me, and the driver and passenger were still aboard. Had a brief chat - they'd had the car (Simpsons of Colne sticker in the window) for about 6 weeks and were really pleased with it.

I've just had another Musci one drive past the house.

Twice I have seen this one now heading for Builth Wells from Brecon

It looks like a Battenburg cake in its livery, and it has lights attached to the roof rails, and loads of writing in a foreign language along the sides. Oh - that'll be Welsh then.

Then I heard from Sinclair Skoda that the Fire Service had commissioned a couple of dozen after extensive testing. I think they were 170 4*4s that they chose.

Chi ei wylio cenhedloedd Scot!!

Saw a 12 reg Silver 1.2DSG Elegance parked outside my house this morning; been there overnight.

Silly me; courtesy car from my dealer as Kevin is in for some work (Service dept pinched a demonstrator from Sales). :giggle:

Interesting to compare with Kevin. As expected the lack of ponies is noticable on the Motorway but around town the pickup of the 1.2 is sharper and quicker than my 2.0TDI - very pleasantly surprised.

My dealer also has one of the limited edition Yeti 'Urban' in their showroom; a very smart looking vehicle with a lot of detailed nice bits including a mid grey carbon effect dashboard trim.

Corrida Red TDi 4x4 in the River Street carpark, Windsor at 1245 today. One distinctive feature, which I will keep between me and the driver.

We're both beginning to get quite good at spotting Yetis on the road, too! Almost time to get the order in.

Just seen a 12 plate Steel Grey/Onyx Elegance 4x4 parked in Garforth. Hopefuuly not too much longer before mine will be parked here too.

Saw a Steel Grey Yeti with a white roof and a set of roof bars on.

Heading down the A12 in East London about 4pm.

Didn't think they were doing roof colour options yet... maybe it was wrapped.

saw a black one on the A281 bramley with the reg x--GUM , along with a white one with the reg - JCP this morning in cranliegh see this one on a regularly

Three different ones this week - Steel Grey '59 plate 4x4 in the car park at Robin Hood's Bay on Monday, then a black one in Whitby this morning and a Rosso Brunello (first I've seen in that colour) at Blue Bank on the Pickering road this lunchtime.

Well there was a certain member's silver one parked outside my house last night, and today I followed a Musci 2 wheel drive through Swansea.

Oi!

Aqua Blue!

And thanks for a delightful dinner, and singalong in the local Pub!! Well worth the visit!!

Hi, I parked next to a blue greenline at B&Q halesowen yesterday and the smaller wheels do look a bit daft next to mine with standard wheels

KT10 - Elegance in Grey outside Royal Naval College / University of Grennwich today.

I was trying to explain the Yeti to a colleague in Istanbul the other week when one drove past. The only one there probably. Glad as the only other Skodas on the road were original Soviet era cars ;(

Had the same silver Yeti behind me twice yesterday. Coming off the A1 at Buckminster and coming out of Melton a couple of hours later on the Saxby Rd. first time for a Yeti convoy round here ;)

Almost had the full set yesterday on the M4 back from Wales.

Saw over a dozen of various colours.

The only colours I didn't see we're a rosso red, tangerine, dark blue and a bronze.

All in, over the week, I reckon we saw close to 2 dozen!

It was me following you off the A1, but not me in Melton, must be another one around locally. I did see a Silver one like mine on the Sproxton - Skillington Road a few days ago.

Hi Tugy I did think it was unusual seeing the same Yeti in two separate places in a short space of time. I didn't check the plate Obviously getting more common out our way. Mike up at Wymondham windmill had one but I haven't seen it for a while.

Silver-ish xxxxWAH parked outside Cafe Uno in Amersham, 2.15pm today

White Yeti (S model) Covent Garden about 90 minutes ago.
