Yeti spotting - result!

Featured Replies

One day Mr Flintstone, one day....

There was a Storm Blue Snow Monster parked up in Knaresborough market square Friday morning, for about an hour.  I was watching it from the comfort of Café Nero. Then had head down to get a bit of work done. Next time I looked up - it was gone......

The first Yeti I saw in the metal was in Knaresborough market square.

Sadly not mine again! There is definitely another Storm Blue Yeti kicking around Harrogate though...

Just returned from two weeks holiday in Turkey and was most surprised to see one in the small town of Kalkan, a greenline at that. Anyone on here?

60 Plate Tangerine behind me from The Sun roundabout to Broxbourne station this morning.

Been seeing a few more round my neck of the woods lately. Spotted a black roofed Candy white last week and a couple of Greenlines over the weekend, just forgot to mention it  :)

Just before eleven this morning, a nice bright Corrida Red giving me right-of-way on the A308(M) roundabout just south of Maidenhead.  I flashed, he waved!  Hello, if it was anyone here  :hi:

First Yeti wave exchange for a very long time.

Just spotted my first63 plate, a white adventure, I drive past the Skoda garage over here every day on my way to work and it's been parked outside for sale for a few weeks, last week it was replaced with a silver adventure and the white one now lives just round the corner from me.

2 red's and a black in the Forest of Dean this morning.

Lots around Kirkbymoorside but I have yet to get a response.

Spotted candy white Adventure on roundabout in Gloucester about 14:30 hrs. Flashed lights from my mirror image Yeti but to no avail. Anyone on here?

So you must live very close to me if you mean the new franchise and not Winter's at Havenstreet. I live 150yds from Westridge. I am a wannerbe Yeti man but I think I will hang fire on the Yeti at the moment though the Carfile prices are low and I like the current shape. Due to the works van averaging 9000 miles per year my car does 2000 or so; love the forum.

Keep trying Genstabler!  I'll be travelling through that way sometime in the next couple of weeks (and definitely on w/e of 2-3Nov).

But if a blue BMW flashes you - don't panic - that'll be me too! Means SWMBO is out elsewhere in the Yeti.

I've seen a few in Fleet, saw a petrol blue 13 plate parked on Fleet high street this afternoon, passed a white one, possibly an adventure last week and also last week I was followed down Fleet road by a muscavado 13 plate. Bit common these yeti's ;-)

No, I work near Westridge

Not common, POPULAR, there's a difference.  :giggle:

Fred

Muscovado (?) Yeti coming up the A3 approaching Tolworth this afternoon. Parted as I came off up the slip road. Very small convoy for half a mile or so! No visible Brisky sticker though, but I did wave as we parted! PB

I saw quite a few Yetis today on my long road trip, one in particular followed me on the A1 around Sherwood forest. I did this major trip today.

Not sure if this would be appropriate here or in the picture thread, but here's one for Graham nonetheless:

Badly composed photo I admit, taken from a moving van at the level crossing on the North York Moors Railway just North of Pickering yesterday. Note the parking place of the Yeti, within the level crossing gates. I noticed it there at least four times during the course of the day as I was up and down that stretch of road during the Malton Forest Rally. I can only assume it belongs to the (volunteer?) signalman?

What is it about Yetis that attract signalmen then?  Perhaps Graham can enlighten us?

Any Anorak stuff on the type of signal box?  Or is this a unique level-crossing control box?

Having just got back from a regular 700 mile round trip to Edinburgh, there always seems a singular lack of Yetis on the M6. Yesterday, however, travelled to local Tesco 4 miles away and saw 5 Yetis including mine. Is this a record for the number of Yetis seen per mile travelled?

.............. you must have missed me! I travelled up the M6 (part of my regular journey from Gatwick to Prestwick) and back on the 8th

Ridiculously pleased- just had my first Yeti wave just two weeks into ownership!

Gentleman driving towards me on a cross roads near my home- I think it was grey- we both waved and smiled

Go for days without seeing a single Yeti then today I see three - including the one in the car park at the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum craft fair that I tried to let myself into with my remote  before I realised the car waving to me was actually three rows further back!! So now I know there are two Regency Green south of the Thames!! (That one looked like an Elegance 4x4 Tdi on a 62 plate(I think)).

There was a white and black Yeti, bought from Manchester Skoda, who caused a few problems on our stage of the WRGB yesterday. He thought it was safe to drive into a restricted area, be obnoxious and rude to the marshals and Rescue Crew, light a fire and then leave it unattended with his bacon on it.

A bucket of stream water put paid to the latter, and his Guest Pass number has been passed to Rally HQ and his reg number to Forestry manager for the former.

Prat!!

And yes I do have some photos of it!! Shall I publish them here?

Heard you in Hafren - I was in Myherin at jnct12, right at the lowest point by two concrete bridges. I was using a dipole and 20' mast to reach control in Hafren.

The cleaning starts tomorrow.

We were nice and quiet until the end, Jerry. Followed Hawk Rescue out and we found car 100 balanced over a longish drop at 16-. Don't know how it had got missed as the start and finish figures tallied!! We put a strop on it, tied to a tree, just in case.

Had to stay until that was pulled out then we got stuck behind Kubica's recovery. He was very lucky!!

Took the car to a friends garage this morning and got free use of his pressure washer, so it looks a bit better now! Still took about 30 minutes!!

You had fun over that side of the valley.
