Whiteline RARB

Featured Replies

I have a standard VRS (suspension wise) except for the whiteline ARB, I did not fit the ARB so that I could go 2 seconds quicker around a circuit it was fitted to help get rid of some of the body roll and under steer that the car suffers from without ruining the ride quality by lowering the car on harder springs/shocks.

With this in mind I would say the whiteline ARB has been a total success for minimal cost, I don't care if the car is a second or two quicker around a set of bends I was interested in how the car feels to drive.

Its horse's for course's but your post has probably put people off a very worthwhile cheap modification that will vastly improve how there VRS drives, your criteria for judging the ARB is purely 'seconds' saved on a fast lap on a racing circuit, mine is on how the car feels to drive (driving pleasure) on normal roads irrespective on how 'fast' it goes around a corner.

Everyone's opinion is important so I hope this will balance things up a bit.

Its entirely possible that the coilovers covered any benefit the whiteline arb gave, hence my last post, but for anyone wondering if the jabba bar is worth the extra i would say yes, i will add i have never driven a standard car with a rear arb on, my car was speced for trackdays with no compromises hell it even ran that bloody ridiculas vibra technics solid dogbone mount!!!!

I won't say it does nothing for everyone, but under my test conditions it didn't work at all.

The bloke gave his opinion/review. He is also one of very few to run both, so it's useful for a comparison. It's down to the person to decide which is best for them.

pretty sure i have an eibach rear arb on my mk4 golf?

red in colour?

maybe worth a look if they do one for the fabia vrs

Plus 1 for a group buy 

So what are the cons of a RARB? I am seeing unforgiving mid-corner handling and possible ride implications, does anybody want to expand on that for a stock vRS?

What stiffness setting do you all have the Whiteline ARB on?

Mine is on the middle setting but i want it on the one up to see how that compares to the middle.

No , sorry Eibach dont do one

I have asked a few times for them to do one , every answer was no :(

Then Whiteline came along

Amazing is the differences

I have not been on the track , but from doing Woodhead pass every day , it made a huge differences :D

 Thanks for the comparison test :)

I have the Jabba one on mine now and although everyone goes on about the snap oversteer its not that bad, and when it does come its so predictable and controlable its unbelievable!

Also if you're going fast enough to lose it then you deserve to spin!!!

I've had both the whiteline and obviously now the Jabba RARB and i wish i hadnt wasted my money on the whiteline, cos although the whiteline one is good, even on the hardest setting it doesnt compare to the Jabba one.

Yeah, I've heard this from others too but I don't seem to get any of that... maybe im not cornering hard enough or need to change more of the suspension set up, just feel it handles much like a cow still to have a snap oversteer.. I feel it'll roll over before any oversteer happens :dull:

I was really paranoid about the tales of snap oversteer when i bought it. i fitted it before my coilies and it made a vast difference. But with the coilies it feels so grounded, Its never going to be an ariel atom butit handles well for a slab sided diesel warm hatch! :giggle:

Mine isn't ordered yet.

Reading some of these replies I'm kind of glad.

Duncan, in all honesty would you say the Jabba bar gives

you £100 worth more improvement in handling over the Whiteline one?

Is there really that much difference??

I would say 100% yes. Don't get me wrong the whiteline one is a great bit of kit and is well made, but even on the hardest setting it doesn't compare to the jabba one. There is a reason to jabba one isn't adjustable and thats cos its the only setting you could ever need.

Quoting my favourite cult film ever, Spinal Tap, The jabba RARB definately goes up to "11" lol

Up to 11 eh??

Hmm....

ELEVEN indeed

Posted on the 26/12/10 stating i was newbie to the site and this was my first post asking for how and what i need to do to join the group buy for the whiteline rear ARB., A bit disappointed i did not received any pointers or help from what i presume are regulars to this site.

Never mind used the 5% discount offered buy Jabbasport in the Performance Tuning and Parts section and i am now the proud owner of a new rear ARB.

To be fair though mate, it was Christmas and Briskoda was a lot quieter than it usually is.

I was on fairly regularly over xmas but I am a bit sad like that.

Normal people are usually with family and friends over Xmas, not pontificating on here

about the best brake pads to buy or asking why their wipers have packed up or whatever.

Glad to hear you got a bit of discount on the Jabba bar. I'm still torn between that and the whiteline

based purely on issues of cost/value.

I've not driven a fabia with one fitted so I couldn't offer any advice either way.

Regarding the group buy... All I would suggest is to add your name to the list and pm the thread starter

to let him know you want in. I can't see what's to explain?

Good luck with the Jabba bar, get back on here with some feedback once it's fitted as I for one would

really like to know if it's as good as everybody is saying.

Has anyone actually asked DPM asking if such a group buy is possible? There's obviously a lot of interest in this item. I am happy to ask if no-one else has done already or if anyone else wants to take charge?
