Shhhh......This is top secret.......Shhhhhh

Talking of discounts, I wonder if anyone will manage any further discount on top of the VAT free offer or even if anyone already has already?

My dealer told me that there's zero room for movement with this deal but I don't trust salesmen and there's always a margin to be made no matter how small!

This sounds like a cracking deal on the vRS now. I never thought it was a £15.5k car but now it's £13.5k it's far more reasonable. I pity those who picked one up last year and paid the full price. I've seen secondhand ones advertised for £13.5k. I suspect now with this deal around their cars are going to suffer another big drop in depreciation. Bring on the £11k secondhand vRS!

I am trying to work out the basic price + metallic paint for the new vRS

My dealer quoted 14035, but i believed it to be just under the 14k mark?

Cheers

Actual price is £14,031.67 - just worked it out as follows:

Car - £12975.00

Metallic Paint - £366.67

OTR Items - £690.00

Seems your dealer is correct.

Well it looks like we will place an order sometime tomorrow!

Cheers

Chris

Love those comments

Still that means that those idiots won't buy Skodas, and that leaves more of them for us intelligent people :D

hmmm i pick mine up friday so may ask about this...

ahem... you MAY ask about this? You'd be mad not to!

Seriously though, if your dealer values your custom then he should automatically put you on this deal before you hand the loot over. That's what my dealer told me when I asked him about this

Well we have ordered ours and pick it up this weekend.

Standard hatchback in raceblue.

Got the final figure on the car today. I've been down to see it ready to go through the workshop.

£14540 with the snowroof and the rest of the extras, picking it up next Saturday morning.

Best thread for saving a whole load of cash, thanks Auric

What spec does yours have? My figure, as pedantic as it may seem, is £9 and a few pence different to what my dealer tells me is the final figure. This is despite picking all the figures directly out of Skoda's latest brochure (effective 4th January 2011)

Unless someone can correct me, I get the final figure to be exactly £15256.67 which is made up of the following breakdown (all prices are RRP, excluding VAT, as written in the brochure):

Car (Hatchback) £12975.00

Black Alloys £91.67

Black Roof £312.50

Multi-function steering wheel £137.50

Bluetooth GSM II Phone Prep £195.83

Climatronic Climate Control £229.17

Cruise Control £145.83

Rear Electric Windows £129.17

Centre Armrest £75.00

Rear Parking Sensors £233.33

Full Set of Floormats £41.67

OTR Charges £690.00

TOTAL £15256.67

I know the difference is tiny but I want to know that I'm right when I finally go to pick the car up in (hopefully, fingers crossed!) about 2 - 3 weeks. For some reason my dealer says I owe him £15265.00 which means he's either transposed his figures or I've left something out somewhere.

Hmm... I get that to be £14219.17 - unless the dealer just rounded up the figures for ease. Guess I'll find out exactly when I come to pay for the invoice exactly how it's been worked out.

What's a 'Snowroof' by the way?

It would be a "Sunroof" but we havn't seen any of that for ages, just that damned cold white stuff that floats down from the sky :giggle:

Ah right - silly me! :giggle:

That would make your final total exactly £14540.00 then. Think I'll be correcting my dealer on his sums then unless someone can point out an error in my calculation?

Interesting sets of figures.

I ordered mine on 27th Dec on a VAT saving of 17.5% (knowingly due to a better trade in value on my current car) and my final figure was £ 15,642.25. List price of Car and Extras and on the road costs was £ 18,320.

Prices on the order are:-

Hatch base price £ 12,782.98

I had the following, Silver 384.94, Black Roof 302.13, Sat Nav 510.64, 2 Front Seat Storage Boxes 51.06, Mats 29.79 , Climate 221.28, Elec Sun Roof 310.64 , Projector Lights 221.28, Front Arm Rest 68.09 , Dark Chrome Alloys 85.11 , Rear Electric Windows 119.15.

All the figures on my extras are different to yours most seem lower ?

I know that a couple of the figures were moved slightly to get 'to the price' to do a deal but from the list above not sure which.

I had on the road costs that were not discounted of £ 605. Plus mats were listed as dealer accessory

I guess every dealer gets to the price to get you to sign up

Skoda did put the prices up on every option in the book as well as the base price of the car from 4th January 2011.

The new prices are in the brochure that can be downloaded from Skoda UK's website but that's why my prices are all higher than yours. When I ordered in November, the order was subject to 17.5% VAT and the old prices. As I'm taking the new VAT free deal, which wasn't available at the time of ordering, however, the old VAT rate and prices go out of the window and are replaced not only with 2011's new inflated prices but also with an extra 2.5% VAT. Fortunately the VAT isn't payable so it's just the new prices that bump it up a bit. I did notice that the OTR charges have increased slightly from £680 to £690 (meaning the delivery charge has increased by £10) and these aren't discounted either on the original deal or the new one.

Floor mats are listed as a factory option in both the old brochure and the new one. They can be a dealer supplied accessory but I'm led to believe that these are just basic floormats whereas the factory ones have logos on them - don't quote me on that one though.

You will be better off on the deal you did in December than those of us doing the deal in 2011 as you'll be paying the old prices for both the car and extras. Depending on how well specified your car is, and I suspect it's heavily loaded by the sound of it, you'll have saved perhaps between £200 and £300 more than the rest of us due to the price increases this year.

That would explain it then. Thanks

Sounds like I made the right decision although 20% off in January would have sold me one too but I just happened to be in a vicinity of a dealer just to test drive the vrs so did the deal there and then.

Only slight unexplained difference is on road charges is less by £90 ? I have del inc vat of 425 plus road tax 180....

Not sure where that figure came from. I have both the old brochure and the new one with me and the advertised prices for the Fabia vRS hatch are:

Effective August 2010:

RRP - £15020.00

OTR - £15700.00

Effective 4th January 2011:

RRP - £15570.00

OTR - £16260.00

As you can see, the OTR charges in 2010 were £680, whereas they're £690 in 2011 - a difference of £10.

The OTR charges (2011) are made up of:

First Registration Fee - £55

Road Tax - £125

Delivery - £510

Out of interest, how did you or the dealer come to arrive at £605 for the OTR charges?

BTW.....Taylored factory order vRS mats no longer come with logos on!!

The quality is crap too
