The ultimate Mk2 wheel whore thread

Regards the extra width looking better can you explain this. How different would the same diameter wheel at a very similar ET look different.

A wider wheel at a similar ET will look wider from the rear and fill the arches better, improving the stance. A tyre of a given width will also look better on a wider wheel. Depending on the design, a wider wheel will look better than a narrower one of the same design, due to a deeper concave dish effect in the face. This is quite noticeable on the CH...

Hmmmmmm I know what you mean. Dilema tbh as I can get 5 Pescara that have been fully refurbed with new Falken 452 tyres for £650. I would also use my spacers so at least the rears would sit nice. What to do........

Seems a decent price inc tyres and refurb

Oh aye, meant to post this the other day, Gary from Niche Conversions sent it to me. It's got VMR V710's on it:

Now that is sweet B)

Posted already , but BBS CH are the best ! :)

19" are to big IMHO , 18" is optimal...

It is a Scout isn't it? B)

That´s what happens when you have an Elegance model 16" rims, and put bigger rims without lowering the suspension.

Octavia has 17" rims and/or sport suspension as an extra for the Elegance model

I personally do not like lowered cars. Just poorly because I am not living in Germany and autobahns are not my usual roads. I like to have few extra centimeters under the body :)

My previous O2 was equipped with "bad roads kit" which give extra 2 cm and I was happy of this :) And by the way I have Ambiente not an Elegance :)

Cheeky - that image is nicked from the VMR distributor for switzerland.

There's a bunch more VMR wheel pics on their flickr stream here:

The cheeky git! Copy/Paste of Gary at Niche Automotive's email: "I recently fit the above set up to the below VRS" then it had that black VRS below his text.

Haumph.

Er.. no. There actually 718s if you look at the source image (on my link above).

They do look good though  but if it was mine I'd go for a gunmetal against the black paintwork. B)

Yea I realised that after I posted. They do indeed still look good, you got any plans to go for 19's rob?

I'd love to, but i don't think i can really justify the money if i'm honest. I love the look of mine as it is now, dark wheels, ride height etc and although I know it would look awesome with 19"s I really can't bring myself to fork out another 1600 quid when i don't need to.

It wouldn't take much to change my mind though so watch this space..!

;)

Got a mate to do a wee Photoshop. Mmm, I think I might need a tissue!

Nice look. Wheel-to-arch gap might need amendment though!

Don't think they'd fill quite that much area, based on how far from the ground the rest of the car is. But I realise it's only a 'shop; good look though emoticon-0103-cool.gif

That looks perfect. B)

Yep that looks the dogs!

Much as I would love to, I'm going to treat these proper and give them a good go over with a quality sealant before I put them on......you'll just have to wait a bit longer :D

Edited for accuracy.

Sounds like the start of a wonderful relationship. Remember to wipe them clean before you take them to the tyre shop.
