Not particularly exciting, but a Golf GTd pulled up next to me in the petrol station with standard 'Seattle Shadow' alloys and they looked fantastic.

Yeah agree don't look bad at all

Bit of a thread revival and unfortunatly have no pics but im a new fl mk2 vrs owner and would love to fit 8.5x19 et47 now going by end of this thread they 'should' just fit but id like to run 225/40/19 is this a no go and would i have to sacrifice for 225/35/19 it will be running on either eibach pro at 20mm lower or the pi at 30mm, cheers all

Speedo will be out if you ran 225/40 19

Standard 18" on the mk2 octavia run 225/40 18. When you go up a size you should drop 5% sidewall to keep the speedo as close to the original as possible.

225/35 19 is the tyre to go for. But you could argue the standard wheels are 8.0" wide and the 19s are 8.5" wide so 235/35 19 will also be fine and will give plenty of give (like the 225/40 18s).
