Thinking about a 3.6, coming from a 540i

Featured Replies

Mine doesn't.

Could it be a configuration issue?

You may be paired using HFS....What phone do you have and does the phone 'loose' all signal and say something like 'remote sim active'...or do the texts come through on the phone whilst the phone is connected?

I have a nokia E52.

It works splendid with the skoda.

I have only had one issue with it, and that is the signal issue you mention. It looses the signal, and then comes back after a good 5 minutes time. This happends rarely.

When it is connected it is meant to loose signal on the phone. the car has a built in Sim card.

You need to ensure that remote sim is enabled

Here is a guide to where you can find it:

As others have said, you won't find another car that gives you so much for so little! ( comparatively speaking of course! ). It can't half shift as well!

Well, first off, I would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to respond. There have actually been so many responses that I'm not sure where to start.

So, if I was to pick a single "they said / we said" then I would go with RedDog and his quote, above.

This seems to sum it up for me. I bought a £55k BMW 540i for £20k, six years ago. What to buy next?? I'm honestly not meaning to be patronising here, but the £25-30k Skoda Superb V6 does everything that my beemer did, and for (hopefully) less money.

So, I'm pretty much sold. Wife is astonished - picked her up from Jr's friends 5-year-old birthday party and she said "what? sure! whatever you want..." which, let's be honest, would not have happened if I had been Porsche chasing...

Err - that could come across a tad w*ky. I meant that if we had any money...

Anyways, I'm looking to ditch the 540 asap (any offers?) and I think that the Superb 3.6l is the answer!

[thread resurrection] ;)

So Skotl.....did you purchase the 3.6 and if so, what's it like 4 years on?
