Standard Map Rolling Road Results

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Has anyone had their standard 130bhp VRS on a rolling road? If so what bhp results did you get? I heard an interesting story today that Skoda lied about power when they released the VRS so it fell into lower tax and insurance brackets, when really the car was making more. Word on the street is that a few people have have found around 150bhp as standard, one of whom I work with.

Ta, Andrew

Mine is running a bit more than standard, but it is standard if you see what I mean :)

My sig tells you the figures, I was most impressed!

They're usually around 146bhp for BLT engines.

Haha sweet cheers chaps, now lets keep it a better secret then Skoda did - we dont want Big Dave Cameron or that freak off the Go Compare ads to take any more of our money!

Mine when standard did 146 bhp and 255lbs on The torque road,

Anywhere from 140-155bhp it seems. Obviously that depends on the rolling road though. :)

Is a 2004 vrs a blt engine??

No it will be an ASZ. Easy to check, engine number code on sticker in boot, or check if ASV is part of EGR, or a separate unit (BLT)

Ok. So what will a asz engine produce?

usually less due to egr setup

around 140bhp possibly

but at the end of the day how accurate are rolling roads anyways

Car just feels more than 130bhp. My last BMW was 140 bhp but the furby just wants to go, go, go and feels more powerful.

Got to get it rolling roaded.

thats because of the pd engine. makes you feel like its rapid as the power comes in a great big punch...

My (then) standard PD130 fabia ran 145bhp on the rollers. ASZ engine.

how can the egr set up make 20bhp diff when it doesn't operate under load?

151 hp and 245lbft asz engine standard

check siggy!

its something to do with the egr setup on the blt's...

good for 10% more bhp standard... moggy tech knows im sure he'll be along to confirm

both engine types remap to the same bhp so its neither here nor there

Yeap about that with a nice hesitation at 1800rpm !

was very suprised when i got my vrs on the rollers made 159 bhp and 262 ft/lb

**** the bed! thats nearly 30 off the quoted figure!

All this sounds to good to be true. Is there any one who's found their's under powered?

I don't think anyone will be taking Skoda to small claims for an underpowered Fabia vRS but some of these power outputs should be taken with a pinch of salt as the rolling roads can make cars look silly powerful.

It's also worth pointing out that VAG in general seem to under-claim on their power outputs. My CR170 in the TT did 182BHP and that's not at all unusual. 2.0TFSI's putting out 210-215BHP standard are also not unknown.

Awesome's rollers seems to be spectacularly good if you want a high output from a rolling road session and I have heard that Jabba's are really only any good for working out how much extra you got from the remap.

I have heard good things about AMD Essex being realistic, as well as Power Station in Tewkesbury (my BLT engined car did 148bhp there) and Superchips in Milton Keynes.

As has been pointed out, both ASZ and BLT remap to somewhere between 170bhp and 180bhp so you'd really have to query why get a remap if your car is already doing 159bhp. Unless of course it's Viezu's rolling road and your car does 200bhp remapped. :dull:

My standard 2004 ASZ Fabia was tested on a Rolling Road at Motoscope in Northallerton on 21 March 2009.

142.1 BHP @ 3824 rpm - 248.2 lbft @ 2109 rpm

Thats why i've not had mine mapped yet would rather wait and save up the cash to get it to stage 2.

when i got it rolling roaded i did questing the fact that it was putting out the figures but there were other cars there modded cars there that were making there expected figures.

might be getting it on a different set of rollers in two weeks so that will give me another figure to work against.

On skylines and supras they were quoted at 276bhp......change the restrictive exhaust and tuners were seeing an extra 50hp on top!

Although that 276 figure was a "gentlemens agreement".
