iPad Compatibility

Featured Replies

Hey all,

Noticed a slight issue with the website.

When viewing the website on my iPad using Safari, I can view and scroll through the forum no problem, but when I try to reply, I can't click in the text box to begin to start to type a reply.

Obviously this affects starting new topics, editing current posts, etc.

I have a feeling this is a widespread IP.Board problem.

Any ideas?

Once you start typing its ok tho isnt it? It is on mine anyway

Well I've not got an ipad.

But I'll get the updates installed on my mac at home and have a play with it in an emulator.... suspect it won't replicate.

If you can replicate on other ipb boards that would be a good start for me. If it's unique to here then I can back out some of the mods, although not many to back out to be honest.

I've just tried it on my itouch with Safari/IPBoard app and there's no problems.

Are you using the Briskoda (green) or IPBoard (blue) skin? Do you get full access when swapping to the Briskoda skin or have you tried it after downloading the app?

This is being written on my iPad with the IPB mobile theme, that works. Briskoda standard theme however does not.

Edit: This is less than ideal, it changes the theme on my computer to IPB mobile then!

It's not that bad, in blue... mobile.

I know somebody with a ipad though... feel I need to see it first hand to understand, thats just me though ;)

Haha yeah it is brilliant for the mobile phone, definitely one of the best mobile forums I have seen.

Just less than ideal for a 27" iMac :D

I could take a video of the problem if that helps?

I only use my iPad now and my brisky works fine mate. Mobile board on my iPhone and the normal pc style board on my iPad.

Yep no problems on my iPad right now.

I have a similar issue to that above but...

I can post new threads and reply to others but Safari keeps crashing when I do so.

I have turned off RTE and the flash option Iain settings on my profile but it has made no difference.

AAARGH!

3 times I have had to type all this.

Any ideas chaps?

Upgraded to iOS 5?

Upgraded to iOS 5?

yes, last week.

that's when the problem started.

go on, tell me iOS 5 is crap.

i don't like some of the new changes and upgrading wiped out all my calender notes ARGH!

any cure? please?

I only have issues with private messages on iPad, I find I cannot scroll back to the top of the page once I've replied to a pm. Other than that everything else appears to work fine

There will be a cure, it's coming soon. However it's not going to be easy. The mobile skin here is how shall I put it, not supported. It's a alpha/beta feature they added to get people going.

I'll be announcing a developers site soon, this I hope will open up the development and features of the site. So some skilled iOS people might decide to write an app etc.... thats the dream :)

Thanks Colin. Look forward to it.
