Hi John T, not sure if you have noticed but it appears you may have dust on your sensor inside your camera, if you look at the majority of the pics you have posted there is a small dark spot/shadow near to the top left of the picture, if u take your camera to any camera shop they can clean it, usually with a fast jet of air, not recommended to blow with your mouth into your camera as this causes condensation on the sensor! If your not using an slr camera then it's either dirt on your lens or dust inside your camera!

Ps: I only know this as I have the very same sort of thing on my pics and on the top left too lol

Hi Mr Greenfab.

Many thanks for the post, it was indeed a bit of crap on the sensor, a good squirt of cillet bang and a scrub with a brillo pad shifted it.

Not sure how the dirt got in, not had the camera long and have only changed the lens 3 mabee 4 time and taken the greatest of care, one off - other on - all caps reinstated.

I got a new carry bag from the Mrs and it came with a camera cleaning kit, so no sensors were harmed during this exercise.

Thanks and Regards,

John.

PS, more avation pictures at the weekend, off to the airshow at RAF Leuchars on Sat, 100th show to be held here and probably the last as the base is being axed.

I was mucking about tonight taking pictures of the moon and snapped this bright orangeish thing in the sky. I looked it up with Google Night-sky and it said it was Jupiter. It does sort of look like it might be, but it was low in the sky so I guess the haze and light pollution were really against me, but if it gets over head at some point and i am awake it might be worth a second go?

I should add this is a mahoosive crop!!!

Actually it's incredible to think that this fuzzy image is about 550,000,000 miles away and taken on a miserable night, with the planet low in the sky , directly above Manchester. Are any of you guys into shooting with telescopes?

Unbelievable!

Were you using a monster telescopic lens?

Just my DSLR, my 70-200mm and a x2 TC Had a look on the web and. apparently I could get a better shot using this stuff if conditions were better! Might try again if we get a favorable night in the next year or two :D

I was given this link to confirm thngs. Its quite a cool programme although not a easy as Google Sky jobbie.

The camera and lens I used, most photographers will have something similar I guess (or better) and I imagine they could easily take a similar or better picture themselves. Makes me feel quite small in the scheme of things though :D

As Amanda has gone into orbit, I thought I'd submit this one taken earlier in the year with a Fuji HS10.

What you gain in the zoom, you lose in the crop. :S

I would think you could see the footprints on the moon with your superzoom :D Did you try sharpening the image up before posting, if not, it might be worth a shot. Still, bridge cameras are amazing value and I see yours is now ridiculously discounted for the features it offers. Have you tried the 1/1,000th slo-mo video mode yet ?

Try this thread for some that utilised the high fps setting that the camera had but I don't think I took any slow motion video.

I've no longer got the camera though as the plus points were outweighed by some significant negative ones hence the move to SLR.

I wish I had a stupid long lens, but the amount of money they cost would be an utter waste just to take the odd Moon shot and stalk my neighbour. :( Although I can't really complain, as my 200mm is 320m equivalent and I can squeeze 640mm out of it with my x2 TC, although eh image takes a hit.

Here is a moon shot I took with the x2 on. I shot in live view and used x10 to manually focus. Sadly I hadn't got my reading glasses so I wasn't entirely sure if I got the focus spot on :D But it is amazing watching the moon tracking through the rear screen so that if you use the X10 feature, the moon disappears from the screen within about a minute having tracked totally across the screen!.

loving these shots  truely amazing

Probably 2% of the people that buy them use the ability. But if you've got one you may as well use it. :D

Anyway, it's not REALLY offroad. This is:

P.S - how do I put photos from flickr onto here? Only know how to do it from places like photobucket! :(

Some photos I have taken over the past few months. Pretty un-creative and pap considering I'm a professional photographer with a degree and everifing.

Can you tell my mojo is at its lowest since records began?

A few from last week visiting the Sénat (French Government). To say it's lavish is an understatement. And no, I haven't boosted the saturation of yellow / gold colour - it really is that "in your face" :D

"l'escalier d'honneur" (Staircase of honour)

i-wmNvvxX-L.jpg

The "Salle des conférences" - yup, it's the conference room :p Edit: for those who are wondering, this isn't done with a tilt-shift lens, it's just the normal 24-70/2.8 but taken horizontally and cropped most of the bottom area off. Again, getting a proper PC-E lens is out of my budget for the amount I'd use it. Might try hiring one and if I can get it to co-incide with another visit, why not :)

The "hemicycle" - this is a really quick (read bad!) pano, but I'd need 180 degree lens to get it all in otherwise!

I hope I can go back and take more, better planned photos, but I'd be pushing my luck as a tourist turning up with all my gear, tripod and all!
