Ideally, I'd like the can to entirely in colour and the rest in B/W, but that will have to wait for another time when I can work out how to do it in Lightroom.

You can use a saturated brush to remove colour from the bits you want B&W (Move slider to the left in the 'saturate' brush page) and leave the can alone (or using the same brush with it's slider to the right, saturate the can's colours and luminance further etc) If you make a bit of the can go B&W with the brush, you click the brush to become an eraser and simply remove the B&W-ness from you over brushing of the can. Hope that makes sense?

rare one, but i think justified...

recent works completed on one of our bridges, a full rope accessed vegetation removal, major instream scour protection works carried out (in a special area of conservation... thank god i wasnt involved in that bit) and also a deep ckean and repointing of mortar joints. 

150 ish yrs old, its looking brand new other than the handrails...

Looking out of the harbour at Whitehaven as a storm starts to roll in. 

I was taken with the colours in this ripening chilli pepper 

 

I've been reviewing pics from our trip to the Western USA  in 2019,  this afternoon.  I could do with getting out of the car into the desert blast furnace heat again, sometime soon.  

Some bike testing going on today at Brands Hatch.

One  of the items on the agenda for the trip to the Western USA was to go back to Speed Week at Bonneville Salt Flats.

One of the more recent ones, took a while to actually find a reasonable bulb that wasn't stupidly bright

 

Yacht taken off the harbour wall at Whitehaven.

 

Shortly afterwards it ran over a fishing line and a rather irate group of fisherman fought to free the spool to save the rod. Cue lots of swearing and gesturing.

I used to love watching the sidecars when they came on at halftime at the Speedway

The dark nights are curtailing my sunset capturing opportunities😬

Season finished now, so will have to wait to next year to try out my new camera😕

I had another trip to see the final Battle of Britain Memorial flights from Coningsby for this year. 

 

I was amazed to see how they cram them all in the single hanger!
