I was quoted 25-27 week delivery but have received a confirmed build date this week of week 28 which I believe is next week and delivery of the first week in August. Wasn't expecting it for a few months yet so I'm happy. Just need to sell my Rav 4 55 plate now ebay here I come.

This is just barking, I ordered a blue VRS on 7th March, initially told 10 to 12 weeks for delivery, but ever since I've had repeated extensions to this, it's now at build week 40. I won't be buying another Skoda after this saga.

Hi all. New to the site and have some questions after having a word with my local dealer. After weeks of research I finally chose the Fabia VRS as my next car only to be totally disappointed with what the dealer said to me.

Paraphrasing he said: "There is no point in ordering one" and "I've had one on order since February with no confirmed build date".

I respect the honesty but after weeks of research into choosing my next car to come up against such a deflated salesman is really disappointing. Just what is going on at Skoda HQ?

What really rubs salt into the wounds is the current offers Skoda are offering. 15% off and 3 years free servicing when they can't seem to satisfy current demand!

Is anything being done to rectify the situation at skoda?

Yup the 15% Vat thing and free servicing is bringing customers through the doors... and when they find out about the wait times they're walking right back out. They need to pull the offers for a bit, complete the orders they have and then re-introduce them.

Some dealers don't for the free servicing on the pcp now. It was only for first quarter (so they say)

Find another dealer and give them your business

Well I ordered my car on 27th April and was told today by my friendly salesman that my car now has a build date of week 34, I was hoping to have the car for the 1st Sept. but it looks like late September I think once it arrives.

I do however have two cars to sell between then and now so wish me luck.

I was driving past my Skoda dealership at lunch time and so I popped in to see if there was any news. I ordered 19th March and it is now at build week 40..... for the moment. It will be the end of October by the time we get the car. That is going to be 7 months!!!

Can you wear your thumbs out with excessive twiddling?

Ordered 18 February - Week 07 which is 15 weeks ago now!

Build week initially 18

then 21

then 22 (this week) where it stayed for weeks.

Came back from holiday last weekend to discover change to week 44!

Changed again yesterday to week 46! (14 November) Still unconfirmed!

Allowing for delivery and Xmas/New Year holiday it looks as though it will be 2012 when I get it!

Just come back from holiday again to find that, as of this week which is week 28 (21 weeks since placing order in week 7),it is currently unconfirmed build week 43, i.e. a 36 week wait!

Skoda Customer Services are either totally incompetent or deliberately evasive, different people giving different stories each time you telephone, no explanation as to how an order which was accepted and production planned/scheduled could suddenly be delayed for 22 weeks, different statements as to the 18 weeks £150, 25 weeks £300 goodwill compensation!

Am I the only person ordering an Electric Sunroof? - I do not notice anyone else mentioning this?

Called Skoda yesterday - my car is currently at the docks in Germany... it looks like from previous threads, it will take about 2-3 weeks from here.

20 weeks tomorrow!

Apparently mine is now sat in Sheerness waiting to be put on a transporter. "This can take up to ten days" FFS Sheerness is only two hours up the road!

I hope the experience of ownership is better than the experience of waiting to be an owner!

My Fabia TSI DSG SE Estate ordered 7th December was built last week as per latest promise and is now at Emden, likely to be 35 weeks delivery.

Good news at last.

Black VRS + Sat Nav, being build next week, estimated delivery 1st week of Aug, ordered April. Pretty much what the dealer told me!
