Order Times, Build Times, Delays, The Skoda Black Hole Ordering System

Featured Replies

Your going to be hard pressed to get a further discount, they've already taken 15% off which comes from their profit margins and from Skoda.. Your getting free servicing with PCP which is a low rate anyway. The only thing to really negotiate on is your P/X

You're quite right Adam. I think the main thing I'm interested in is the monthly payment TBH. My dodgy maths is thinking <£200 but that could be very wrong.

If you're going for a pcp then i think £4k is far too much of a deposit. Others might disagree but i' d be careful of putting more than £1500 up front. You'll still be looking at not much more than £200 a month.

I'd agree, I got the VAT off and low rate PCP/Free servicing. But I also got a small cash discount and a tow bar thrown in though too

Can't guess what your payments will be because it depends on your costs.

Paying for 36 months would be a lot more than £200 a month. I'm paying over 5 years on HP and it'll cost me £285 pm!

Are you putting down any deposit though?

PCP works differently

Deposit

Payments

Final Balloon payment (which can be like £3-4k)

Ah yeah,I forgot about the balloon payment. Doh!

After a good long think and having another chat with the dealer, I have decided that I'm going to order one. B)

Looking at all the options I have also decided to keep things simple and have a standard one in candy white. Going in tomorrow to thrash out a deal.

Could I also ask anyone that has got one on the solutions deal what I can expect the monthly payments to be with following criteria:

~£4,000 PX/deposit

36 month contract.

The dealer has already mentioned the 3 years servicing and 15% off offers. Any tips on negotiating welcome. :giggle:

As far as the long delivery times are concerned, I'm going to assume a Feb/Mar delivery so as not to be disappointed.............

Cheers.

are you intending to keep the car after the lease period?

if not putting a high deposit in is not a good thing as if you part ex the car in for another one, to keep at the same montly payments your on now you will have to put in the same deposit. Have a think about this!

are you sure its 36 months? most Skoda PCPs are over 41 months

definitely haggle mate, don't take any of the extras like alloy wheel protection or lifeshine, they make a huge profit on it

if they offer you GAP, tell them you can get it at £130 on internet and to match it.

dont agree to anything unless your 100% happy, they will try to make you agree, they are afterall trying to make most out of the deal.

and they need you to sign, stick to your guns and walk out if you have to.

i spent 3 hours with my dealer negotiating and i walked out to have them call me back in the evening agreeing to my terms.

Good luck, let us know how you get on

Hi biggy. Good to see you here. I'm criggy over at the AVforums.

Been in today to order and must say it went really smoothly TBH. Didn't get any of the usual hard sell on GAP or Lifeshine.......in fact, nothing like that was mentioned at all.

The only thing he wouldn't commit on was the PX value of the family Picasso. I'm hoping for ~£3000 but if he offers silly money I'll have to think about chopping in my 107 runabout, which I don't want to do if I can help it.

Here is how it breaks down:

Candy White Fabia Vrs (No Options)

£4000 PX+Deposit

35 payments of £169.61

GFV £6232

APR 7.3%

6.47% Fixed

Will just go for another car at the end of the agreement unless its unreliable in which case I'll hand it back. I don't mind paying "extra" for that flexibility.

Now just got to play the waiting game............

How flexable are dealers with the APR?

Emailed my dealer today about PCP and to ask if there was any update to be told the car is being built tomorrow! so should have it in 4 weeks.

(Build date originally given was 33)

David

Had a look at the dealers tracking record and saw that ....

Is that facility available with all dealers? Or is it something you access via Skoda?

Like i said, i still think £4k deposit on a pcp is crazy.

Like i said, i still think £4k deposit on a pcp is crazy.

But it's not really. It will mainly be my PX. If I get another car in 3 years and have only £500 equity, I'd top it up to £1000-£1500 max. I would never put £4000 cash down.

Fair dos

Ordered my vRS 22nd March, been told yesterday it is in the country!!!! its in transit as we speak, the dealer is going to update me when i can pick it up, i cant wait now, its been a loooooooooong 4 months.

At what stage after initially ordering do you get an order/ SLI number anyway? There's nothing on my order form.

I had to ring SUK to get mine. This was after a week of placing my order and SUK confirmed my details but didn't have the order from the dealer. SUK sorted it within a couple of hours. Now waiting for provisional build week.

Nice one. Is it something you're meant to sort out yourself or is the dealer supposed to let you know? (In reference to both the order number AND the build week)

Im signing for it on Sunday to pick up either Monday or Tuesday

Least the dealer can do is keep you informed

Thing is they seem along with Skoda

To think once you sign for one to be made

They haven't to worry till it's available to you

No mater how long it takes we are mug enough to wait

Sorry getting fed up now seeing other dsg se ordered after mine

Have been delivered and I still haven't a decimate date just a maybe

When was yours ordered tofo?

15 jan 2011 se estate dsg maxidot capuchino spare wheel (mdi black side strips mf steering wheel reversing alarm)option two in the brochure

been told by suk build week 34 probably unlikely to change

probably get it mid september

my problem is getting in and out of an mx5

both me and mrs tofo have bad knees

was originally p x ing mx5 on sons behalf as he needed a larger car

ended up swopping our scenic auto for his mx5

thinking couple of weeks no problem 4 months ago

begin to struggle now though

i feel rather disappointed with skodas efforts

if i had known i would wait 9 months for the car

i think i would or reconsidered my options

i have sent many e mails all a waste of time

Fair enough tofo mate, ours (well "hers" actually) was ordered a week after yours and we might be picking it up next week. I know it's small compensation, but make sure you get your £300 cheque for having to wait for more than 25 weeks

Who pays the compensation, is it the dealer or is it Skoda UK?

I ordered mine 19th March and received a call from dealer on Monday to infrom me it's still at build week 40.

If my calculations are right I have waited 18 weeks this week. (Only another 3 months or so to wait :dull: )

I canney complain, I had mine within 12 weeks and I abused the options list =/!
