Skoda HQ are in charge of the factory... so if skoda HQ tell the factory to do something... the factory does it, simple as.

None of this 'The factory can do whatever they like they have no control over them' is absolute rubbish.

Good news for you Bri.

I ordered my vRS on the same day as you, apparently it will be built next week (week 26) but this has still not been confirmed.

Patience has never been my strong point!

Ordered mine on 25th of Jan was prmoised end of May two weeks before delivery I was advised it now had a build date of week 46! Skoda have done all the hardwork of reiventing the brand, got a great product to market but fail to deliver. The general line seem to be they are a `victim of their own success' which is no bloody help at all as I don't have a car due to a number of broken promises by Skoda. There seems to be some problems with 3rd and 4th party suppliers who have either gone to the wall or can't keep up with supply. My Skoda experince so far has not been a good one and I haven't even got the car yet.

Si, I feel for you mate, it sounds as if you are getting exactly the same line in bu****it that we have all heard before.

I sent a couple of e-mails to Mr Will Fisher (UK Customer Relations Manager ([email protected])) to voice my concerns and query the whole "it's our suppliers" bit. If I used that excuse I'd get the sack! He explained the situation a little more clearly but also said this:

"Should your vehicle's lead time reach and exceed 18 weeks, you will be eligible for a goodwill gesture of 150.00 GBP, which can be used to purchase servicing or accessories. In the event the vehicle has not been delivered after 25 weeks, you will qualify for an additional gesture of 150.00 GBP - enough to cover the cost of a two-year service plan."

I assume you have been told the same thing?

Anyway, to rub salt in the wound, mine is now confirmed for build next week! Sorry!

Done a fair bit of chasing with a local dealer who found two in transit as unallocated stock so got on the phone to Will. Finally got some good news. I can have one of these. Not best please at having to pay £21 more a month on the lease due to all the extras as well as all the chasing but it is better than walking/cycling/public transport. Skoda have contributed £200 to help bring the monthly cost down but still £756 extra over the lease period. It was pretty much a take or leave it situation. They did tell me about the compensation scheme but you can only have dealer fitted options rather than factory fitted which seems odd as my initial order hadn't been built. Not impressed with the Skoda service so far let’s hope the car arrives as promised within the next 2-2.5 weeks.

The guy I wrote to was Robert Hazelwood who is MD of Skoda UK. Needless to say didn’t get a reply for him but I believe Will Fisher handles all the flack directed at Mr Hazelwood. Robert Hazelwood is based at the Milton Keynes address.

*UPDATE* Call from dealer this morning. Car shown as Schedule 38! - almost built (probably is now after the day) Will be en route to blightly imminently

I spoke to my dealer yesterday and he confirmed my car has been built and "released from the factory". Whatever that means. Not long to go now! I've just sold the Boxster so I am car less until the vRS arrives.

Thats slowda for you :)

Updated my post on page 17, dealer says my car has left the factory and is in transit across Belgium :)

eh? How does that work? You ordered 2 months before me and got it two weeks after me... how odd.

Dunno but very pleased to have a new car, old one was just about to fall apart in more ways than I can bother to type and MOT was due early July. :whew:

even worse, I ordered my Octavia Scout 16 Nov 2010, still no firm delivery date!. Einstein & Hawking combined would be foxed by Skoda's delivery "black hole" and random delivery system.

update

Got a call from the dealer a few weeks ago saying I got a build date of week 26, so phoned skoda this morning to see if the car was getting built this week and was told the car has no build date? i am totally ****ed off with this, this is totally ruining the joy of buying a new car and is really starting to put me off skoda brand altogther. phoned the dealer and he couldnt believe it had no build date as he phoned me with news of a week 26 build, hes gonna ring me back after hes spoken to skoda to find out whats happening, the missus is going to freak, this is really startin to **** her off. will update after dealer has phoned.

Gave Skoda UK a call this morning.

Car was built week 24 and arrived at the UK port on the 23rd June.

It's sat there waiting for transportation to my dealer.

Mine is supposed to be being built this week, I have just e-mailed the dealer for an update! Waiting..................

Latest from our side:

Car: 1.2 DSG Elegance

Order placed: 30th April 2011

Build date: End of September 2011

Off topic - Fabia petrol blue - anyone got any photos??!! Its a new colour for MY12.

Mine is supposed to be being built this week, I have just e-mailed the dealer for an update! Waiting..................

Ive been told mine is starting to be built but the dealership always seem to clueless when I ring up.. new staff!

I also heard today that I have a build week of 32, though not in Aqua Blue (unless it's a Roomster, Superb or Yeti - very sore point!) so it will be around 9 months after ordering to del (ordered 16/11/10 Octavia Scout)........I am now going to make myself a complete thorn in the side of Skoda to extract some revenge!

I called Skoda CS yesterday who say my car is confirmed for build next week...

I gave up waiting for the dealership to reply to my e-mail and rang SUK Customer Services yesterday afternoon, apparently it is being built!!

That is 18 weeks today since I placed the order and was told it would be an absolute maximum of 17 weeks but "very often they come much quicker".

Still shouldn't grumble, at least it is coming!

My local dealership had the cheek to try chip me down again on my part ex as they thought they'd of had the car by now and it will have more mileage on it... Erm, blame your factories mate... I estimated how many miles I would of done in 12 weeks... not my fault they delay everything!

Fabia Greenline II Estate Spec

  • Met Paint
  • Rear Elec Windows
  • Maxidot
  • Parking sensors

Ordered 26th Feb 2011Quoted 3-4 months (delivery June sometime)Current Build week 29 (now looking like August delivery)

So just to update...

Its still looking like August for delivery but dealer's been great. I have now traded in my Celica that had an MOT due on it and the dealer's given me an Octavia Elegance to tide me over until our car arrives

I got a flat tyre a mile before trading the car in and the dealer was great about that too - told me not to worry about it!

Definitely kept a customer happy during a long wait.

After the selling the Boxa at the weekend the dealer has given me a spanking new Fabia 1.2 HTP to toodle about in until the vRS arrives. Its on the boat apparently so hopefully it won't be too far away now. Be great to have it for heading down to Sonisphere next week.
