Interesting Yeti find...

Featured Replies

As one who doesnt read the manual on how anything works I was surprised today to find out that holding down the unlock button on the key for around 5 sec's not only unlocks the drivers door, but will put all the windows down too. Same happens in reverse when holding down the lock button. Know this was a VAG feature in the past but was not on my previous Fabia, you needed to insert the key into the door lock and hold it in the open position to get the windows open or closed.

Manual page 49. You can operate the Yeti windows either the way you discovered with the electronic button or the same way as on your Fabia with the key in the lock.

You learn something new every day.

This feature has been blamed for owners finding the windows open the morning after a night of storms and torrential rain.

Ooooooh, must go and try that!

Didnt try, but wonder if you dont open the doors, will it relock itself, and also put the windows back up?? Away to try!

Read up on 'rain closing' too!

Come on James, you need a degree in gibberish to read that manual!

I should be all right then. According to another forum I've got an MA in drivel!!

It's known as Global Close on most OEM's.

Ah, yes well I suppose gibberish and Welsh are languages with a common root :D

Watch it tyke!!

My 2001 Octavia had this feature. That's 10 english years ago!

Watch it tyke!!

Take that back immediately! I'm a Norfolk dumpling currently in exile amongst the savage northern tribes!

Does the Yeti also have an interior button for locking/unlocking?

If so you will find that pushing and holding this button does the same trick with the windows.

We do, just like the octavia. Not tried it though.

The fob trick works even if the doors are open for opening the windows......

It won't open the sunroof but will close it. Useful if you've left it open by accident.

Erm not quite right, it does not fully open the sunroof no, but it does open it on tilt......

Yes the car will relock itself if you dont open any of the doors but strangely will leave the windows down?

unless it rains, and you have the rain sensor and you have the rain closing option ticked in the Maxidotemoticon-0136-giggle.gif then it will close the windows automatically....

Do any of you Yeti types REALLY know how your machines work and what tricks they do?:wonder:

Bet the designers at Skoda are having a really good laugh about all the toys and gimmicks they have built in that drivers dont seem to know about

Had the same "problem" with my current Seat. Even the dealer mechanics didn't know how to fix what we assumed was a fault. It was only the salesman who knew about it. In that case if you used the second key to lock the door but held it in position for too long it would wind all the windows down.

I realy do think that it would be a good idea if the car manual/handbook was made a factory fit optional extra.

This of course would only be made available to women drivers, as us "MEN" would never have any use for it.

Found you can also change the option in the MaxiDot to only open the Driver's door window, instead of them all.

And in the maxidot you can have the key open the drivers door, the drivers side doors or all doors with just 1 click.....(note each key needs programming separately)
