I cleaned my wheels in the rain

OK, the car has been into the garage, oil temp gauge still isn't working but that will be sorted soon . Got the autolock feature now on the car which is a nice extra bit of security! As I had today off I decided to take the plunge and take the FABIA badge off the rear, looks much better now

Well took her to her first show @ the weekend, had a great time at GTI Inters!

Met loads of really nice people, saw some fantastic cars and had some fun on the strip. Times were as per below :

Had 4 runs

Race 1 - Against a Seat Ibiza Cupra Boc - Won but only just and he has a fault on the engine, sure I will get battered when we are at POD!

Race 2 - Against a red Leon Cupra MK2 with black wheels, was leading to third gear then it nailed me. Spoke to the driver afterwards, running about 350bhp.

Race 3 - Against a Corrado V6, got a naff start but caught and passed it easily

Race 4 - Against a Octavia vRS MK1, anyone off here?

So best time was :

0-60 : 6.58 secs

1/4 : 15.086

Happy with the 0-60 time but was hoping for sub 15 secs for the quarter, aiming to get it sub 15s by the end of summer @ Pod. Forge intake is next on the list as that should give me a few extra ponies for next time and to take out some excess weight (cleaning stuff, impact wrench etc etc!

Thanks to Tech1e I now have a working oil temp gauge! (Thanks again mate)

My local dealer programmed it in today and fixed the rattle under the car

Right, I know it's only just past half this year but I'm already thinking about 2012 (planning ahead.......way ahead!). As I can't afford to buy another car again :p I need to change the appearance of the one I have so Platinumatt (User on another forum - Cheers again!) did me a photoshop of a possible plan :

Opinions welcome, would mean the wheels would be powder coated, roof and spoiler painted and black pack grille added. Don't think I will add the black headlights but it's a possibility.

I've also managed to spend £4k in my head on performance mods for the car, still waiting for that lottery win or LARGE bonus though (I knew I should have worked for Sports Direct!) before I can actually carry out my plans. Those mods would include :

Forge Air Intake

Forge Intercooler

Turbo Back Exhaust System

Stage 2 Remap

Eibach/Bilstein B12 Pro Kit (-40mm)

Whiteline RARB

312mm Brake Upgrade

No other update to speak of, the Forge air intake should hopefully be with me by September time.

A lot of people were surprised with the times I was getting, had a few people chatting to me saying they now wanted one

All good visual mods - maybe black headlights will be better.

Update

Well to be honest this was a little unexpected but a nice surprise! Got bought a TMC tuning box for the car so put it on yesterday :

Currently running "Setting 7" and must say it feels like a different car, midrange is much improved. Can't wait to get her down Pod' and on a RR day to get it measured. I'll still be looking into getting a custom stage 1 map but this will tide me over until I can afford it

how much are the TMC tuning boxes, because I thought TMC were a diesel tuner, cant find the 1.4 TSI box on their web page, maybe Im being blind.... :S

I wonder what the difference in power is with the TMC box compared to standard, and a shark remap for that matter.
