1. Who is this guy called Pete?

2. Why does he travel in your boot?

Whilst talking about arm rests....am I the only one who lifts up the front armrest when driving (it's an SE)in order to have unfettered access to the handbrake? I can get to the handbrake with it down but only by a somewhat awkward tilt of the wrist whilst rubbing the front edge of the armrest.

You are not alone ! The design there is a bit faulty i believe...

What I want to know is when you look at the back of the superbs seats they are protected from the boot so why cant the yeti's be made the same way ? It just seems a bit of an oversight to me ?

In practical terms, I agree that this is the most obvious failing.

TP as ever that is on ace solution! Love it. Where did you get that blanket from? It matches very well.

As to protection of the centre armrest remember they are ever MORE vulnerable when you fold the seats down and load the boot with stuff. Hence I have TWO Yeti rubber mats permanently in the boot and the second one goes over the folded seats to protect their backs (and especially the leather armrests) when folded.

cant help but notice that the front passenger seat has disappeared.

is it folded away somehow, mine wont't do that?

Cheers

Nope. I have one and it is cut to fit around the central seat. It only covers the bit at the top of the side seats when they are slid forward. VERY noisy too and banished from car after about three days!

Would it be possible to stick two pieces of self adhesive velcro down the back inner edge of both rear seats then cover the gap with a piece of hardboard with matching velcro down the sides? You could customise/cover the hardboard to match in if you wanted.

Yes cannot see why not, although remember the out seats can slide fore and aft and the centre is fixed and all three back rests can be adjusted to a number of different angles (great seats for relaxing in the back on a long run wife tells me).

Thanks - the main reason is to stop stuff sliding through to the interior and for "neatness". The other reason is to protect the light leather from contents of boot while armrest is in "up" position. Wife has suggested making a "sock" to slide over the armrest when it is in up position or floor is laid flat to maximise loading space.

I miss the steel backs to the seats that I had/have in my Fiesta/Escort. Ok, they didn't look great, didn't deaden noise particularly well and were subject to scratching, but there were no worries about damaging them when folded & stuff loaded onto them.

Faced Plywood with a piece of Lidl boot liner glued onto unfaced side. Just slots in behind the seats. Could really do with a darker grey/black colour.

Very neat. Just note what I had said today in the other thread about this: if you leave your seat down like that for too long the seat belt buckles leave nasty permanent dents in the leather. emoticon-0106-crying.gif

I'm sure I read somewhere in the "very helpful and concise Yeti owners handbook" (sic!) some time ago that you are advised not to leave the seats folded for longer than necessary, for exactly that reason.

I've got another complaint about my Yeti ... had to replace one of the rear number plate bulbs today ... cost me 90p, they had the cheek to tell me it wasn't covered by the warranty! They kept me waiting 5 minutes drinking their free hot chocolate while they did the job too! I'm thinking of writing to my MP!

Just came across this tailored boot liner for the yeti. Looks very good and coves the backs of the rear seats.

A little bit pricey but considering I have a dog that loves the mud and water probably worth the spend even though she is caged.

Boot liner - Skoda yeti

Now that is a good find! I like all the options too. So you can tailor make your own one - if you have a dog get the bumper flap, if not just get some of the other bits, if indeed any! Very nice - albeit pricey as you say.

There is also a link to the Yeti with a spare:

I found this by doing a search for wait for it "ford puma boot liner" just don't ask why.

This will tick all the boxes. Just need to speak to them to see if when specifying the split seats the back will stay up when using the centre seat as an armrest

I have now added this to my list of extra's to get for the yeti and being not to far from me I might be able to visit the factory to collect.
