F1 GP 2011 - boring

Featured Replies

Shouldn't they just present Vettel with the trophy now, without all the hassle and expense of the rest of the season :dull:

Thanks for pointing that out - now suitably corrected

Enjoyable race, but I think that they are untouchable at this stage, the Wizard (Newey) seems to have got it spot on this year with a great car & reliability.

Button or Lewis to win the season, thoroughly enjoying watching Rosberg, Petrov and Kobayashi as well though.

Vettel is on fire at the moment and it was a good race. I am not sold on the whole DRS / KERS thing, yes it enables overtaking but it takes some of the skill out of it. I think they should be given the choice of having one or the other system, that would make it more interesting. I have to say though the BBC coverage is spot on

Its good in HD

Second that its fantastic  In fact its so good its put me off going to the GP. I cant imagine watching it from the stand would be better.

Best season in years; ok, Vettel's on fire out front, but there's heruge amounts of actual racing going on behind that.

DRS is a bit unnecessary; there's lots of potential and actual overtaking going on at other parts of the tracks too.

They need to sort out where the DRS points are. It made overtaking far too easy at Turkey. They could stop them using KERS when in the DRS zone to make it a little harder.

As for the season it's been pretty good, some of the most exciting racing I've seen in F1 for a long time. It is a bit boring Vettel being out in front most of the time like the Schumacher days. Hopefully the other teams can catch up to test him because I've got a feeling that once he's not on pole he isn't that good at fighting for position as say Hamilton, Alonso, Kobayashi and Webber are. I know Kobayashi isn't as competitive but some his moves are just awesome.

I'm also hoping Schumacher retires. He's already said he's not having fun and I think that's when you should stop. Keep an eye on Di Resta. He's done pretty well so far and there's talk of him being Schumacher's replacement at Mercedes.

I recon kobayashi will replace shuey

Aye; he's impressing me even more than "wee Paul" is.

I think it's been a great season so far. Really enjoying it.

The Schumacher bashing needs to stop though. It's like a damn witch hunt with the presenters picking up on every tiny mistake he makes and instantly judging him on it. It's got to the point where it's so predictable it's funny! If anyone else makes a mistake or does a dirty move, then just skim over it like any other racing incident, but when it's Schumacher they just spend the rest of the race ripping into him!

Jake Humphrey and Coulthard are good, but Jordan is a complete moron and Brundle is a bitter old failure of a driver. Grrr don't start me on Brundle! He seems like such a nasty little man! Anyway....

Petrov, Rosberg and Kobayashi are my favourite drivers so far. My least favourite driver is probably Massa. He's useless and someone more talented should have his seat.

Jake "is there no beginning to my talent" Humphrey good!!:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Watching the race on Sunday made me wonder why none of the "teams" are acting as a team .......surely both drivers could gain valuable seconds using this rear wing gizmo to overtake each other once each lap when not using it to overtake the opposition and gain valuable time .....or am I seeing something that cant be done

You'd need:-

1) 2 drivers capable of consistently lapping within 1s of each other.

2) Gaps front and rear that keep drivers 3 and 4 out of play.

3) To actually make a useful different to lap time, and since one of the pair is likely to be off-line at the turn at the end of the DRS zone, that may not happen.

To be honest im not a fan of vettel, its very boring indeed, i might not watch it any more because there's to much red tape and what are they on about changing the rules to get more over taking, thats just stupid! It is motorsport after all?

I'm not a massive Vettel fan either and I still don't know why Massa has his seat at Ferrari. I almost feel sorry for him when I look at him that he will never be number one at Ferrari.

Kobayashi, Rosberg and Di Resta are my favourites at the moment and give them a year or two and they'll be right up there.

Loving it, great season so far & looking forward to the rest of it

Think Vettel is just another name for the shoe maker....and has just as much charisma but more talent.

Rossi could beat Vettel on is bike any day and I reckon Lord Coe could run faster

It's getting very boring, nowadays it's won in the pits

If less than 1% of the population ever get a chance to do karting and go on to car racing then there are probably at least 100 guys (and maybe girls) better than Vettel.

F1 is often dull to watch, a part from the technology which is quite interesting but then when you consider what could be done ie the Red Bull X1:-

http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/News/Search-Results/First-Official-Pictures/Red-Bull-X1-supercar-2010-the-full-technical-spec/

Then it makes F1 cars look like lawn mowers.

In terms of spectical F1 is behind IoM TT, MotoGP, WSB, BSB, NASCAR, LMS, WTCC and BTCC IMHO!
