Swapped all mine for hankook and loving them. Smooth and quiet.

Which model of Hankook did you go for

I've heard very good reports of the Evo 12

Never again am I having federal tyres as there were cheap but dreadful road noise. I thought I was rolling on plastic tyres then rubber. Hahaha

Been looking at kuhmo ku39, good review and not bad price at £74 per corner. I may consider them for all four corners.

i swear by toyos. just bought four of the new px4 range so ill see how i get on. thought i got a good price aswell paid 260 for 4 delivered 205/40/17

Yep. Those one's from camskill, cheapest I found delivered.

apparently falken fk452's are getting great reviews?

Federals lol!

For cheap uns you cant get much better than kumho ku'31's

Have had Continentals and the most nastiest and cheapest non-brand tyres you can find, and all transmit road surface noise, nearly to the same level.emoticon-0149-no.gif

However they have just re-surfaced the local dual-carriageway and when I reach this area, I can actually hear the radio at No.2 volume level, LOLemoticon-0136-giggle.gif,

road surface sound transmitted is almost eliminated and only hear the wind going past me.emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Mr Whoosh hasn't admitted they were Federal's,....Yet emoticon-0103-cool.gif

You are all assumming that they are Federals, we'll have to wait and see emoticon-0144-nod.gif

Uniroyal Rainsport 2 FTW!!

Did a bit of research and i am replacing them with kuhmo ku39.

A mate of mine is running ku39's on his Audi a6 s line and says they are quiet.

Thanks very much for all you help and as a wee reward the tyres i wasted my cash on in the first place were

GT RADIAL CHAMPIRO HPX a costly lesson learned :giggle:

I bet on a dry road (or race track) they are. However I would not want to drive them in typical British weather, :rain: R1-Rs may be a little better in the wet, obviously not as good as T1-Rs though.

I had Kuhmo ku39s on my vRS.

Weren't great to be honest, Proxes took their place.

Hi all,

Just been quoted on Camskill for 205/45 16 87W 4 Toyo T1 R at £287.52 including p+p and I was wondering how much do I expected to pay for fitting at a local tyre place?

I have phoned few places they range from £11.99 to £15.00 each, including fitting, balancing and value.

Is that reasonable?

Thanks

Chun

My local place charge £10 per corner for valve, fitting and balancing

I better start ringing around then. hahaha

I have had Michelins, Pirelli etc.,.......but for my "summers" I am currently on Toyo Proxes TR-1 .......very good...quiet.....good grip in dry (very)...and much better than I thought they would be in the wet!!!...and are pretty good on fuel. B)

will 205 55 16's fit the standard alloys? seen a good set of conti's for nearly £100 cheaper than 205 45 16

Massive dont bother unless you like the monster truck look /\
