Hello New Server

Featured Replies

After messing about for a bit managed to get logged in, must say hello to the new server. Long may it serve our needs and keep us happy.

Now all that needs fixing are the DNS records.

Hi, Manny!

Doesn't look like anyone else has found the new site, yet!

At times like this, I'm glad I'm running my own cacheing DNS :)

I changed my DNS server setting from my ISP to the one colin suggested on the old site.

Been on here ages and was beginning to feel alone and unwanted

What a co-incidence - first two here have Rally Red cars :D

Hi you two rally red folks...don't mention DNS...when I signed up the nameservers were xyz, I then moved to a new server and got wires crossed such that xyz was not a valid name server...

Thus I moved and flicked the nameservers over and the dns would of propagated but with the old servers, so for the unlucky ones it's going to be another 24hours at least for them.

Hopefully today (Sunday) things should get back to normal. I am now using NTL's dns server to access the site and all seems ok.

im on via enta.net and its found you guys !!!

but only this am.

Hello all. I am finally signed in now. :D Tried all day yesterday with no success. Had no problem this morning though. Went straight in.

Welcome back.

Graeme

Yep Welcome back Briskoda , I also tried yesterday withou sucess. Nice to have the site back , the net is boring without it!!

I had to resort to using xilo.net's dns servers in order to find it... May the dns propogate quickly and prosper :D

Here at last but only after some help from manny (ta muchly)

NTL's propagation is never the best and if Colin was having problems then I'm not surprised I was unasble to say hello :(

Great to be back :D

Welcome new SERVER!! - Could this be the reason it said there had been nearly 3000 posts since I last visited? :D

Welcome back and well done Colin. I,m running Blueyonder, which didnt have you accessible until after my bed time last night......bout11.30 pm.

Cheers

Hi everyone

Couldn't get on yesterday evening at home but works fine now, here at uni. Nice on Colin:cheers:

WA-hey!

NTL finally updated!

I'm back. I was wondering what I was going to do for light relief today.

Phew!

Phil

Which NTL??? I had to wait until 1917 local this evening to get onto the site via NTL Cambridge. grumpy.gif

Seems quite fast compared with the old site. Has Colin 'swissoled' it? :D

A few people here and there still cannot connect, Most NTL subscribers included. At least you are back, not sure how though as those inktomi things are still playing up.

ahhhhh Demon is finally updated now - i've been having withdrawal symptoms!

Should we have a prize for the first new member on the new server? :D - there hasn't been one yet ...

Yep, BT have finally got their a**e in gear and I'm back on. Telewest have taken their time as I couldn't get on all day at work today.

But my post count has gone down again!!!! Have I sinned, Reverend Colin??

And a consolation prize for the last 'old' member to find the new site. Sounds like there could still be some regulars stranded out there wondering what the heck has gone wrong. :(

Me Me Me!! Me Want Prize!! :D

Right, now I'll have to catch up on those 950 posts... :(

Only 950 ? When I managed to get back on there were over 3,000 !!!

Ah, but I was "in the house" right up until the moment Colin pulled the plug on the old server, so that probably accounts for the difference.

.....of which at least 2950 were jokes posted by U NO Hoo (aka The Joker)...grumpy.gif

Regardless, welcome back JaneC and Dutch4X4. You were missed. grouphug.gif
