I am terrified by the thought that you fondle with at 12 year old, but I can settle with it if you confirm it is a sheep :giggle:

12 year old??????

I said woman, which means 18+ you Viking barbarian with your old ways of pillage and plunder :) , do you wear swimming trunks by any chance? budgie smugglers made by speedo? has the S fallen off :)

It was you that stated that "I have a certified age of 46, I have a mental age of 12", and I just put 2 and 2 together. But I see I forgot a roundup to 18 (or ... going for the sheep alaternative). :D

Still pillaging and plundering, but unfortunately had to let the swimming trunks go.

In fear of getting warnings an such for not beeing quite on topic... I'm 38 and have been driving Skoda since 32. And exclusively other combi wagons since I was 18. So no stereotypical gangsta cars in my years of growth ...

The Superb is really superb, and my wife (36) just loves it! :)

Hi! I'm Graham and I'm an alcoholic…

Oh, sorry. Wrong forum :giggle:

Aged 39 and Superb (ly) happy with my motor

29 if my superb will come this year,

if not 30 :D:rofl:

im 34 ordered my first skoda superb today! :-)

Age, image, its all very subjective...

At the end of the day if your lifestyle needs space practicality and comfort/safety and lots of extra's... its th way forward

If you still want 4x4 super performance and 12mpg then an evo is they way to go!

I'm at a loss to understand what age has to do with owning a Superb? Do some of you worry about how you are perceived by others? If so, the default option is the 3 series (which always wins what car tests so it must be the best car available  )

Personally, I couldn't care less what others think about the car I'm driving. If someone doesn't think a Superb is a cool car, or doesn't believe it has the badge kudos of the german lane 3 specials, fine, live in ignorance.

I've seen suggestions on here that some think the Superb is an old man's car. That really made me laugh.

Buy what you want, not what you think you should be seen in.

Wise words indeed ;)

Even though I am a huge extractor of the urine, I bought my Superb after 18 months of dabbling with Toyota's and found their reliability and build quality to be poor. So back to a Skoda for me, I already had a Mk2 vRS, which in many ways was a more logical choice, but the Superb is so well equipped, even in my middle of the road SE Plus spec, so well designed and has build quality that should make the nips start falling on their swords.

The extra space inside is a huge plus when I have my disabled mum in the car on the odd weekend, and I actually think that it looks very classy, both inside and outside. The 1.8TSi motor is very strong to, it should be better after my upcoming visit to Ben at Shark, but a strong, refined and punchy motor.

I had a Mk1 Superb L&K as my last Skoda, and I made a Huge mistake by turning japanese :)

36 3 kids & superb Greenline love it!! avg 55mpg rocks! & in these frugal times thats what counts. :D

37 and a half.

Mk2 Elegance - bestest car I've ever had.

36 and just ordered my first Superb... although a friend commented "You've only ordered that because it's the nearest thing to a Rover 75"! Oh, and I had a new one of those too... not your typical 29 yr old's motor!

40 when I finally took delivery of the big girl in Jan. Had my first Skud at 30 and never looked back.

If my wife and I are blessed with a second child, perhaps within the next couple of years it will necessitate a vehicle change. I am 6ft 3in and I adjust the drivers seat in my current Octavia in a very simple fashion............all the way back and all the way down. However this presents a problem for the rear seat passenger behind me; a problem that would not be present in the Superb me thinks.

So in answer to the question I'll probably be 36, but I would happily own one now (34), so long as it's petrol and pref the 2.0 TSI.:D

You're similar dimensions to me, and buying the Superb for pretty much the same reason. You will have no problem with the seat position - in fact, if you select full back and full down, you'll be struggling to reach all the controls. I have a 6'7" mate I call Chewbacca, and even he thinks the seat position has a very generous amount of travel.

The rear seat legroom is vast, and you will have no problem sitting behind the driver's seat in your selected position and still have more than enough room. This is also the only car where I have had no issue with putting an infant car seat behind the driver seat without compromising my driving position. I had a Mondeo as a rental car briefly, and as big a car as it is, I couldn't put my seat to a good driving position as it contacted the infant car seat behind me. No problem in the Skud, and I reckon I have more than 6" to spare, so everyone is happy.

I'm 40 and got my Superb two months ago after having owned a 320d for almost 2 years, would not go back under any circumstances, can't fault the Superb at all.

That's not surprising though, had my Superb mk1 when I was 35, sold at 37 to allow swmbo to buy her "must have" 4x4 and regretted until getting my new one!

I was out last night and had my first experience of the skodaness, while in the hospital waiting room, with my sisters in laws... mom said what new car have you ordered, I just said... SKODA... no one said anything! I never went into details, and no one asked. Apart from her father in law saying your new baby will ruin the interior, when I went on to say, not at all, its all leather, and wipe clean! they shut up then!

The only group of people who believes that skoda is not currently a top brand/ marque or vehicle is the Audi (new cocks) and BMW drivers. I think Merc will give the Skoda marque respect, since the mercs are often used as taxi's but lets be fair taxi or not, they only use them because they offer the balance of quality and reliability.

At the end of the day this is the only car that will make my life as pleasurable in the car as could possibly be, and go on plenty of holidays.

I just spec'd a VW passat SE bluemotion, and its slightly cheaper, but needs at least over 8k worth of extras at least to match the elegance! Yet will still never be as big in the back regardless of what extra's you put on it. The A6 still isnt as big in the back rear seat leg room with a 6fter plus in the front is compromised.

39.....4 month old daughter....2 dogs....2 horses..... and a 26 yo, extremely fit wife. I'm an extreme sports fanatic and train in martial arts on a regular basis. :ninja:

So.....old? Well, older than some...

...boring? I like to think not....

...choice of car? Bloody sensible if you ask me! After having A4's and A6's for a number of years, I have found a decent reliable...reasonably quick family load lugger that can also take my mountain bike!

And yes....at 6'4" and 17 stone, I can still get my young, fit wife in the back seat! B)

So....to all those people that think Skodas (especially the Superb for some reason) are an old man's car, I say this.....

I've got more luxury and performance than almost any similar spec Ford, VW, BMW or Audi driver.....and much more cash left in my bank account!

So there! :moon:

Old? :swear:

No, we

I'm 28 driving SuperB V6 :) My second skoda...

My name's James, I'm 37 and I'm a Skoda driver :giggle:

I'm just in the middle of the waiting period between ordering and receiving my new Superb.

If SWMBO wants to be thrown about, have her filling shaken out then get the "younger persons" octavia VRS!!! (I love it really but IMHO I'm getting too old to be shaken to bits every day)

I was sort of in the same position, she has the diesel Fabia VRs but her logic is that I have to drive it so get what I want so I ordered the 170DSG Elegance.

Good luck!

I think you'll miss the Octy , I'm 42 and own a superb but drive my wifes VRS Octy all the time leaving the Superb for her

Are we talking fit wife as in check out these rippling quads ...... or are we talking fit as in ......... :)

And How the hell do you get the horses in, I know it's a big and flexible car but ..... come on :)

Youngest one so far? 20 years old :)

Both, actually! :-) Not bad considering she had our first bubby 4 and a bit months ago! And especially not bad for a "Skoda" driver!! lol

I'm "that" age and this is the 2nd Superb .... Best bit about this, apart from the car, is watching all the Alpha-Males spend hours telling me my their car is better. I annoyed the salesman because I have leather and he didn't so he told me how much more his car was ... I annoyed the bloke I'm replacing because mine has more toys than his audi so he keeps tell me how much he "loves" his car .... One of the sister in laws thought my "beemer" was very nice - ogh the joy of tellingher she had just arrived at the tennis club social in a Skoda ... oh the list is endless

To own a Skud is real inverse chique. We have bigger chahonies than any Scoobie driver, more fiscal sense than your london banker (although that is not as dfifficult as it once was) and exist in a state of self awareness and enlightenment that Zen masters can only dream of.

When you know that the "dark side" was actually the right side - that is the time to go to the Dealer.

I maybe 50 but I'm not called Colin and neither is my wife.

  • 4 weeks later...

What the Hell has age go to do with it.....64, and just returned from riding a motorcycle over the highest navigable route in the world...18300+ ft in the Himalayas...Explored the Kalahari Desert at 60 with my social secretary in a 4x4...and this is me slowing down....at your age Colin I would not have been seen in a Ford!Let alone a Peep Cart! Ashamed that friends might see me in it! The same goes for eating in Macdonalds!

Ford my foot!!

Probably has no idea of what the Czechs are capable of.....do some research on the world's best chemical explosives, the London eye, Infantry fire power...and finally Hitler's peoples car....check out where, and what the Nazi engineers copied and called the VW BEATLE.

The only reason that the Czechs produced rubbish cars for many years was the Soviet occupation of their country following the Great Patriotic War.

If you are still not convinced...check out the last Czar's request for a reliable car...in those days the Brits & the Germans were hauling themselves around on skateboards... Finally, Remember that the Germans do not build cars - they supervise the work of "Guest Workers"

This country used to build cars, however with weak management and strong unions...it went down the tubes. Now we again build cars but under overseas management.

And don't loose your sense of humour...Co-lin.

I think I'm the one. Turned 68 this year and been driving my beautiful Skoda for two years now. The big advantage for me is that the car knows its way around town and I can catch the odd nap!! Scares the hell out of my wife of course but that's half the fun of driving such a car!!
