I think there are 10 people, excluding yourself, Si.

Any ideas of the route/time from Caerwent westwards?

If 'er indoors lets me off helping with the housework, I might bring my new camera to a convenient layby and take a few pics (and give you all a wave).

I know it goes from Chepstow, down a fairly major road to the 2nd circuit. However, visit to the RPM website may be needed to find out exact details...? and I can't remember where the URL is

Just looked at the RPM site http://www.rpmpromotions.com/Late%20Summer%20Tour.html?refer=BRISKODA

It says the route between stages is defined by Tulip diagrams, so I guess you won't know it till you start. It'll probably go from Caerwent along the A48 (watch out for the speed camera just after the start of the 40MPH limit near Langstone) to the Coldra, and then on to the M4 (try to ignore the monstrous Colditz^H^H^H^H^H^H eltic Manor Hotel up on the hill).

Good tip, Mike - I hope Jon's obvserving as he's the one whose license will be affected by any fuzz wanting to make a quick earner out of the quick cars going on this tour. (remember the WRC fiasco!)

I've "booked out" Dad's office digital camera for the weekend, so I'm sorted! Copious amounts of piccies to follow a.s.a.p after this weekend.

what was the number for the hotel everyones staying @??

There was very little use of major roads on the last one - focus was on "interesting" routes between venues....

Si, think the huntsman is all booked up - but Paul has booked a double for you two ;)

checky:D

I think there may be a triple room left, or a double, or something, not sure.

I'm in a double as that was all they had left, if anyone is taking a wifey codriver (or is just *really* close with them) and wants to swap or something then just ask.

u got the number ian?

Hmm, interesting routes...

Perhaps the B4235 to Usk, then the B4598 (nice twisty country road) to Abergavenny/Llanfoist.

Then a short stretch of village road to the B4246 up the Blorenge via the "Fiddler's Elbow" to Blaenavon (Brecon Beacons National Park, views over the Clydach Gorge, with the Skirrid and the Sugar Loaf in the distance. Blaenavon is now a World Heritage site (but I don't think it's been refurbished yet). Mountain road to Brynmawr, then back on to the Heads of the Valleys Road and westwards.

Just a guess, of course.

I posted the tel number for the Huntsman about a week ago, in this thread - It just means trapesing back through this thread to find it* sorry. Or put "huntsman hotel" into google (uk only) and their webpage came up with all the info on it.

huntsman is all booked up, anybody know of anywhere else local to stay??

si

Contact RSOct22 as he pointed us (and is pretty local) to the huntsman in the first place.

I am staying a few miles/minutes out from the Huntsman to see you boys in the evening and Spectate on the Sunday, Anyone likely to be at the Huntsman about 6:30 - 6-45pm and willing to follow me to my accomadation and give us a lift back to the Huntsman?

Note.Des has now agreed to take me so ignore this request.

I will stay at Huntsman until 11:00pm when I have a lift pre-sorted back.

Couldn't find anything local, I suggest you stay at a hotel in Chepstow - RSOct22 recomended the Chepstow Hotel If you stay in Chepstow you should be OK to pre-organise a taxi to and from the Huntsman.
