ahem - yep, I'm shipping them out to the Prince of Brunei at a profit! Do I get a 90 day credit account included? :D

Anyone know if there are helmets available that don't mess up your hair?

nope, be prepared for "helmethair" - all the best rally drivers sport this look.

(or, shave it all off, and will look identical) :D

Q, you could always take your hairdresser with you to attend to you between stages!

Pete is already going, so no worries on the hairdresser front :D

Oh & Des, Gossy says yes you can borrow his camera mount all day - his video camera is FUBAR so he ain't going to need it.

Remember your little PMRs (walkie talkie thingies) as they are sometimes useful on the road sections when travelling in convoy.

*crackle* "This is rubber duck! ten-four big brother! *crackle*

Do people still use CBs (as opposed to PMR) these days?

I thought they had gone the way of punk, Commodore Pets, and Starsky & Hutch paint jobs...

I think so too, Mike. Just re-living (not that I remember it) that trucker program. I think it was called "convoy"??

LOL - the most ardent fan of CB I remember was the owner of a Marina TC - without the S&H paint job - but it could have worked - Practical Classics has one painted in the Dukes of Hazzard scheme

PS said Marina was quite quick - by the standards of those days.

I always though Marina to be quite slow, must be all that string getting in the way...Captain Scarlet was much faster, but he couldn't go underwater.

I remember watching convoy at a B&B down your way Jason, I suspect before you were born as I was small, got special permission to stay up and watch the big lorrys on the tellyvision :D It was ina big white/cream B&B just of a hairpin corner next to a dock/bay type villiage in cornwall/devon...tv was in the main room..oh you don't know it then.

This man needs help, nurse

When I was born I was in Leicestershire - just to be perdantic... - But I know what you mean though. I think I was too young to comprehend the true meaning of Convoy. If it was made in 1978, I would have been minus one...

tch, kids...

(I was only two when it was released :D)

if it was indeed in 1978 I was two also .... but with a one to the right of it

Well, tonight is prep night

got my new brake pads

got my harnesses

got my stickers

now where did i put my co-driver??? :)

almost ready to rock and roll :drive1:

si

& I was 10 less than you :(

Did you buy the Cadburys stickers? ;)

Does all this talk of lids mean there is an official rule on helmet use this time round? (and no smutty answers from any Devonians present, thank YOU).

lol

At what time are people going to be present at the Huntsman? I don't want to find out 5 minutes after I arrived you all went to the stripclub without me :(

I wouldn't dream of it... It's when people start talking about "entering chicanes", and "slipping out of gear" that I may pipe up! :D (who is this "gear" bird anyway)

I'll be arriving in Chepstow mid afternoon BTW - Reckon around 3pm, once my new door barrel is fitted and I'm away from Exeter at lunchtime Saturday

Will probably go for a drive if I'm early. :drive1:
