Ensurance

I was about to start the same thread having received an e-mail. On the face of it I thought it seemed reasonable value although I think if I was to take it out I would do so near to the date of my annual insurance renewal not wanting to pay for something twice ie legal cover. Noticed the legal cover is restricted to £50,000 not sure how that compares with my current insurance?

I have downloaded the iphone App which I quite like, has a torch and even a parking meter alarm.

It will be interesting to see how they stand up to claim management, supply of courtesy car etc, I will watch with interest. As always the proof in the pudding will be when you've had the accident and need them to act.

It does look like it is to do with Skoda Insurance. Reading the blurb, it looks like it is for drivers who are insured with another insurance company, as I think I have all of that cover already as I'm with Skoda Insurance already. I don't think it gives you double cover, but ensures that your vehicle is dealt with by Skoda/VAG group using their approved repairers etc, so It will work alongside your existing policy.

Now lets see?

Legal expenses cover - included both on my current insurance AND my CSMA Club membership.

Dedicated incident manager - What, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day?

On-line bits - so what??

Guarenteed VW repairer - covered by my insurance

Guarenteed Skoda parts - as above

Courtesy Car - as above

Now why wouls I want to spend that money with them?

:giggle:

Many insurers now have contracts with businesses set up to provide crash repairs -they have been accused of low standards and corrupt practices-referral fees to ambulance chasers, deliberate delay to generate profit from credit hire car provision, paying kick backs to paint suppliers and more.

Many are, no doubt, honest diligent etc. But there has been serious concern from thoughtful people. I haven't read about this but would not dismiss it. I do not know of any general insurer which now guarantees repairs will be done by marque specialists. I might be interested.

We have both our Skodas insured comprehensively with Skoda (Allianz)

The standard policy seems to include most if not all of the 'Ensurance' features?

I've emailed Skoda Insurance asking why they think we need to pay them an extra 'from £49.99' pa?

When (if) I get a response, I'll post it here!

Although I started this thread last August, I have now received another email from Skoda trying to flog this once again - I never unsubscribed.

.

Has anyone taken it up as yet?

Thanks for the info Bassa, looks like a good idea.

I'm with Direct Line, and although they may have authorised repair agents, will my Yeti be fitted with genuine Skoda parts........................I really don't know, and never really gave it any thought. My insurance is due for renewal on 1st July, so this is a question I want answered.

I want to chose where my car is repaired and not my insurers.

I'll bookmark that link for later.

I think whilst the Yeti is still new and there are very few pattern parts around, most companies will have to use genuine parts. But, will the car be repaired to Skoda/VW standard? I work in insurance and some people who have had their vehicle repaired by other than main dealer repairers have not been happy. I personally want my car dealt with by Skoda, but I have Skoda insurance and as far as I can tell, their insurance, which I received an email as well again today, covers me.

We are wandering off Yeti specific topics yet again.

Got the email spam too - as far as I know any repairs should be with genuine parts (well when I crunched the Octavia Scout they were anyway), plus I get a car and legal help. Seems like a ploy to get more money without selling insurance.

What happens if the insurance company says one thing and Ensurance says something else?

Just insured Yeti with another company after 2 yrs with Skoda insurance.

If I took out this Ensure policy I am still £125pa better off so it is win win for me

Perhaps I will now get one of their e-mails
