mid-high 20's? Bloody hell fire!

:D

Yawn  As I said, I never bothered looking before apart from this morning to post back in this thread, and that was for the one trip into Ipswich centre and I never got beyond 3rd gear or 20MPH on a 2.2 mile trip. (I Have just been and checked for you, MFA says 29.2 MPG / 2.2 miles)

Thats not bad all things considered I would say.

My best recorded MPG according to the fuelly thing is 45.6MPG on a 480 mile run to Thurso, which was done on one tank with and averaging over 60Mph for the 480 mile trip with 2 x bladder stops.

At the end of the day, I'm not fussed, it could to 5MPG in town, I don't care because it's very rarely used on a commute or in town. It's petrol power and refinement and non to shabby economy over a run.

Ah well fair enough for 3 miles - even my diesel doesn't get much over mid 30's until I get on the m/way.

Your refinement comment is the one that stands out though. The petrol models of the car are quite a bit cheaper than diesel ones......... that would offset any difference.

I'd prefer the TSI any day :)
