+1 the info you provided about wheels when I was pondering the move from Octavia to Yeti was invaluable and much better than I could find from official sources

A relief. I doubt anyone knows more about the Yeti-including Skoda UK

Following a few PM's I am also currently back, but shall be watching with interest over the next few days.

A few questions to Colin:

One moderator posted a very inflamatory video, which I reported, and it was removed. Is there a method of moderrating the moderators?

3 members of Briskoda posted several inflamatory and rude comments about Yeti owners. Have they been reprimanded? I am more than willing to name names.

And lastly, if I organise a future Off-road event, specifically designed for Yeti's, am I expected to advertise it in other sections?

Graham, I agree totally and I also, would like the answers to your questions.

You can still report staff posts or contact ColinD directly if you prefer.

staff are looking through posts which you guys can't see, and Colin has also discussed in the backroom that some will be dealt with by Colin. By all means report them via their profile pages to staff or contact Colin if you.prefer staff not to see your comments.

The meet is tough, as scout versions could handle most of that a Yeti could. One for Colin to call on.

I was going to say that about scouts. They would be more suited to that sort of event than the majority of yetis. Most yeti owners don't go off road and therefore will have bought the fwd versions. It might a actually be reckless to allow us fwd owners in purely on the basis of yeti ownership.

Hi Graham

Likewise! I recall asking similar questions about the time I was barred for a week for daring to challenge one of the mods who let slip that "they" were watching the yeti forum. As you'd expect, no answers were forthcoming.

I asked the reasoning behind the ban from the Mod who jumped in and activated it - and I am still waiting for that response, too.

My own personal penchant, which has met with approval from a number of forum readers has been to relate loosely car-based stories, usually the Yeti since that is what I drive alternating with a Zedd. Once all this fluff has blown away it would be really good to be permitted to continue without fear of being blocked, or shifted to some remote corner of the site where I get lost (aaaaah!). I trust that, if life settles down, we can begin to enjoy the camaraderie once again, without being compelled to attend any so-called "meets" in order to be able to learn to live.

PS welcome back Graham. There is also a very sensible overview of recent events posted elsewhere by lady Elanore. Worth a read to give it all some perspective.

True but when we have organised meets they have always been very clear as to the type of event. 4wd only is loosely called a "Yeti Adventure" and a 2wd event is a "Yeti adventure" (lower case a). So to the former we will invite Scouts of course. To the latter anyone can turn up.

Also remember that even at the 4wd events we have always said anyone can turn up in anything they like and can come as a passenger in a 4wd Yeti.

Given where you stay George it's a bit rich to describe anywhere as remote :-)

Meets would most likely be with white fluffy creatures rather than furby drivers :-)

The Adventure I ran last year could have been driven by any Yeti, not just the 4x4, as all that was required was plenty of ground clearance, and to be honest could be managed by any thing higher than a VrS with care. However the next one I have in mind I doubt even the Octi Scout would manage as there are a couple of places that it's ramp-over angle wouldn't be adequate.

EDIT

Dom, because of my 4x4 training experience, if I didn't think ANY vehicle was suitable then a full explanation would be given to the owner/driver well in advance. I hope that would be listened to.

As those that came on the last one will remember, before we left they all had a full briefing of what to expect and what I expected of them.

And George's place isn't remote! Just secluded!!

Thread now closed.

Going in circles, getting petty, going wildy off topic, attention seeking posts etc. etc.

you get the idea, lets move onwards.
