Rallye Green Octavia vRS

Featured Replies

The factory has been running short on the Bolero unit due to supply issues, when this happens they so use the Amundsen to complete the car and the customer gets a free upgrade!

Dougall

Mines due to be built 1st week in March, I have to say I wouldnt be too upset with the upgrade :D

  • Sorry to say but they have a green VRS in the showroom of my local dealership and it looks bad. I can see it being a popular colour on launch but I think people will settle back to the regular colours

Each to their own but I reckon that green will make it a bitch to move on. My mate once bought a yellow Merc and while he paid a lot less than a more popular colour, he literally couldn't give it away when he wanted to sell it. I'm not saying the same will apply to the green Skuds but its a consideration. I thought Race Blue was pretty loud but that green is unreal! :-)

Here is a dealer Demo with the black wheels and grill - Looks better than chrome/Silver IMO

BTW in the link anyone notice the stereo, is this something new with the extra buttons in the center? :p

Very nice. Needs lowering and shame it's a diesel :dull:

Love it!!!! When can I get my car re-sprayed this colour!!!!

must admit the same was going through my mind! different i suppose.... would look better with white multispoke wheels IMHO

Seriously - everybody is getting excited about the fact that Skoda has decided to offer the green that was previously only available on the Furbie on the Octy. The problem is it's a larger car aimed at a different market and sometimes you've got to wonder what the wisdom is of having your 4 door super saloon painted to look like Scott Tracey's daily driver?!!

Large cars with lurid colous are a risky thing and resale ability and values reflect this. For every potential buyer that thinks your green octy looks cool, there are 20 who would rather have a blue/rd/black/white one instead.

Just because you can doesn't mean you should......... :giggle:

Then again, each to their own......with care!

It's exactly how I feel about it. Take the Focus RS/ST colours that are available. Both an Orange and a Green have been used in the past which actually look quite good on the small hot-hatch. However now imagine a Mondeo in the same colour - it simply would not work.

What you've got is simply too much of that colour - works fine on the smaller vehicle but once you go larger it loses some of it's appeal.

As has been said - each to their own. With the green you will certainly stand-out and have a bit of a "rarity" on the roads. However I cannot help feeling that tehre will be too much colour and in the future you will be hit by resell - privately it will be more difficult to sell and as a trade-in you'll be offered less as the dealership will have more hassle moving it on.

But good luck to the brave who decide to give it a go :)

The reason it's £20,000 is because it's a demo and isn't available for sale yet.

It's common practice to advertise it high, then when it is released for sale they can knock the price down to create the impression they've discounted it.

Just as all of the con merchants on the High Street do, you only need to look at the ads on the TV and look at the small print on the bottom of the screen to see what they've done.

I wanted to like it and was almost gutted that the colour came out after I had my Candy White but having seen the pics I don't think it's for me (green seems too light for my taste). Would be interested to see an estate as that would be really unusual. Would need black/anthracite wheels as a mimimum mod (or option as it now is).

I can see it being a popular colour on launch but I think people will settle back to the regular colours - anyone remember asbo orange ST's? Exactly. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder though. If you have one/are getting one and like it then that's all that matters.

It seems to have the black interior...but without the red stitching? I didn't know this was possible.

Black leather has black stitching. Black Alcantara can have red stitching.

Unless of course you get the full leather upgrade done by a stealer, then you can have red stitching with green piping along with colour vRS badges on the seat faces rather than embossed. It would like good in a green one, Its fine in my yellow one though. ;)

IMO its not a bad price as it has a few high value extra including the leather, sat nav and xenons amongst others. The extra cost of the diesel model over and above the petrol equivalent needs to be factored in also, works out just under two grand off list price

Anyone know about the black alloys yet? they were supposed to be a mid-Feb option but they've not appeared as an option yet apparently

I never saw this option of stitching and colored badge..!

yeah - i know that - you didn't quote the important bit that says its a mid-february option though... we're now past what i'd class as mid-february :p my question was if anyone had a better idea of when it would become an option :dull:

I love it, I wouldn't be brave enough to own it but it looks great, much improved by the black pack IMO, I also think the black grille and the alloys would really finish it off in gloss black rather than the matt black pictured.

gorgeous car though
