Who has Xenon's?

Featured Replies

Self levelling doesn't do anything but blind people anyway

I'll just go and point my xenons up in the air then shall I if self levelling is useless . . . How often are you blinded by a halogen or (aftermarket HID) car with one light pointing much higher than the other? Now compare that to factory xenon cars where one light is higher than the other (rather than having a blinding default/rest position like a 4x4). . .

Self levelling does do stuff - much to my annoyance. Every time I try to re-aim my Polo lights they revert back down again. -_-

RE the washing - they usually do it every * washes, so I'd imagine the first wash of the wind screen with lights on should trigger it, which is pretty easy to test. Certainly does on every headlamp washer car I've ever driven.

I've said before in other threads that I get blinded by xenons more than any other car, I don't think the self levelling happens fast enough for it to react to what's needed ie going up a hill then once it reacts its on a flat surface and it blinds you

I thought it just levelled it once on start up or whatever then that's it. So if you load it up with 5 pepole and a boot full it adjusts it to compensate, not like active headlight which move all the time.

You may be right I'm not totally sure. I just always notice when they are behind me going up and down hills

Etc it takes. Few secOnds for it to stop blinding and so fourth

Don't suppose we have possible GB prices yet?

not yet mate, you will all know when i do. :)

dont know why everyone is hyping about washers, who cares, there never going to get dirty anyways. not too a major extent, and if they do a wee wipe with a sponge will sort tht dirt out, just seems like a bigger hasstle than needed.

I can hear periodic whirring from my polo headlights when stationary, so I assume they update on the fly as well as when starting.

I have just sent this company an email to see if they can do anything for the auto-levelling.

They offer full wiring looms + sensors for the Octavia and Superb, if enough of us want it, maybe they'll do one for the Fabia too

Hi,I notice that you offer wiring looms and sensors etc for Xenon auto-level retrofit for Octavia 1U and Superb 3U, but not for Fabia 6Y.

Is this something you can offer for the Fabia, as I know a fair few of us in the UK are looking for a solution for this.

Regards,

Sam.

****... Knew I should have ordered them yesterday.

Did they say what price they could do it for if we're prepared to wait?

Actually...thinking about it, why can't we order them direct and cut the middle man out?

If enough of us want them, surely a supplier will be prepared to deal with us?

Did they give an indication of the price Scott ? Also if there is still enough interest you might try getting in touch with the manufacture link here

Karl

no price yet, i have just emailed depo too to see what price they say, as obviously the ebay seller will want to still make money where as depo will be making money for the sale units. cuttin out the middle man

Good idea that.

Yikes, that's quite a wait! I ordered mine yesterday, just spoken to them and said they were sent this morning :)

What's the point in saying 10 or more available on ebay, yet they probably only had a handful in stock... :dull:

Good plan!

I've contacted the member on eBay selling the black ones to see if I can get a deal done on the chrome ones, i'll let you know what they say

Good idea - I still don't understand the massive price difference between the black and chrome though! Unless they made a mistake on the prices haha

This is entirely possible lol

Vehicles equipped with High Intensity Discharge

(HID) or LED dipped beam headlamps may be fitted

with headlamp washers and a suspension or

headlamp self levelling system.

Where such systems are fitted, they must work;

however, it is accepted that it may not be possible

to readily determine the functioning of self levelling

systems. In such cases, the benefit of the doubt

must be given.

Headlamp washers may work in conjunction with

the windscreen washers (when the dipped beam

headlamps are switched on) or by a separate

switch.

May isn't must though is it?

Reason for Rejection

1. A switch missing, insecure or faulty.

2. A headlamp levelling or cleaning device

inoperative or otherwise obviously defective.

Doesn't say absent though does it?

I knew I should have purchased them yesterday. Bugger.

I would be surprised if the seller held the price if they get more stock. There was "more than 10 available" and they went rather quickly.
