The spacers have arrived as well as my Whiteline 24mm RARB (joint bday present from Wifey/Mother). No fitting until Fri/Sat though as I'm away for the week!

Car looks a good height now :)

You planning on using longer wheel bolts when you put the spacers on?

  • Author

Yeah, the kit is supplied with longer bolts :)

Which kit you got? Im considering 5mm spacers aswell. What about locking nuts?

  • Author

No longer locking nuts at the moment. If these fit well, ill order another set of 10mm for the rear. Then ill have to order a full set of longer locking nuts... It's the BIMECC kit (eBay). Google returns good feedback on the quality of the kit :)

Looking good Phil, first time ive looked at  your thread for a while, good progress :) :)

Sits just under the arch, plenty of room between tyre and spring platform now. 5mm wouldn't be enough taking sidewall flex into account. 8mm would be ok though.

Happy now, I can drive without worry :)

I'm getting some when my tyres need changed. Looks well

Where you get the spacers mate? Looking good

Read up mate....

New tyres fitted today. Fronts were Wanli and rears were Zeta. To be fair they never caught me off guard or let go, but the Wanlis sounded like a wheel bearing had gone.

Changed to 225/45/17 which is virtually the same rolling circumference as the 205/50/17 that came off. Went with Kuhmo KU39's.

do you rate these dude? i have evo12 in 205 i spin for fun and they have a hooge bulge so looking for new tyres

They are very good, I don't drive like an idiot but do have a spirited drive now and again, they've never let go and are very good in the wet. I'd buy again!

Went to the garage yesterday, slight exhaust blow. Also got backbone straightened up as it was on a wonk!

Wish it was one of my first mods, not one of my last! Soooo much flatter now when cornering, even feels 'tighter' driving under normal circumstances. Brilliant :)

Nice!

ive had one sitting in garage for 2months yet to fit :giggle:

Dooo it!!!!

He's not wrong. RARB is the best thing I did to mine. Mine had an old whiteline on to start with and just swapping that for the neuspeed made even more difference.

Looks good dude!

yep deffo getting it fitted before it goes back on road, probably going to need now!

R-Tech CAI fitting tonight.

First up, heatshield and cold air feed...

No Dremel to make some holes like the ones already there, so the drill came out.

And all together..

FDFB09CD-C8FB-45ED-9A79-DC4A30530F42-580

But disaster struck, the bonnet wouldn't close as the heatsheild was too tall!

So heatshield back off (no pics of this as time was getting on) and trimmed a bit from the top of the heatsheild and tried again!

All done! Next up is to make the hole bigger in the bumper grill with a Dremel and an engine bay spruce up, it's a bit dusty under there :D

Vinyl wrapped my grill today in Matt Black Vinyl.

First attempt I fudged up (slipped with knife). Second attempt was better but I cut the corners a little too close to the edge, just about hidden by the rest of the grill. Ill probably have another go, came in at less than £4 which was enough to do two grills.

Wrapping isn't permanent hence why I did this rather than paint it :)

looks good dude,i would defiantly break the grill in half if i attempted wrapping  :giggle:
