Des,

Have you decided to go for this yourself yet or do you just fit it for other folks? When will IP be restocking? They're somewhere in Kent, if I recall.

you should come to the northern meets.. we have all that... Colin and Paul drop the the road closed signs... rob sprays the lines on the road and ian will sleep with the winner!

I've loaded a small (2.5mb) vid of me roaring past the house while SWMBO helpfully pointed the camera.

As well as the pshhhht noise note the lurvely Impresive/H&S exhaust note :D

Make sure you have the volume up loud! As a noise comparison - note the volume of the people carrier going in the opposite direction ;)

IP have one left and it's all mine along with some other bits, they have another 15 on order from the States. IP are on The Medway City Estate near the Medway Tunnel.

Des,

So you are convinced (130 to 140 actually shows a big jump in power) or is it the sound that swung it for you? When are they expecting them in?

Seems like a good opportunity for another group buy by the amount of interest shown.

I think there is a slight increase in power not a "big jump" though, the sound was nice. Don't know when the next lot will be in.

I'll have a word with Mike about a Briskoda Brethren discount on everything.

Wow, that exhaust note is sweet! I am sending a clip of my own to Quinten right now. Think it will be avaliable to DL sometime tomorrow.

Super sound there, Dave!

What's the sound like when you're driving slowly? For me it's not Mrs. D4x4 who would stand in my way, but in this case - the Skud being a company car - it's the customers. Now if I just drive away carefully? :D

Then again, most of our customers have large car parks...

Errrrr - not sure - haven't driven it slowly since it was fitted :D

So you basically blast off the driveway, cold engine and all? :D

Nope - just been driving it non-stop :D

Being serious for a sec (just a sec mind!) when you are driving normally you can't really hear it that much - if the turbo is boosting you can hear it sucking in air and if you gradually ease off the throttle it doesn't go pshhht!

Ah, so a customer-proof mod then... :D

He he, your exhaust is quiet! ;)

Mine is louder, but yours pops and bangs more :D

Des

Des,

What I meant was any increase in speed seen at those sort of figures (in the low 100s) shows there is a power benefit - drag to speed relationship-wise.

Somebody wrote about CAIs: Long pipe length = top end power, short pipe length= low down torque

Do you know anything about that?

Not something i've heard of before. My way of measuring these sort of things is if it feels faster it usually is IMHO.

Has anyone had a look at the intake that Jabba do? I like the look of it, and with the

The heatshield for jabbas induction kit looks like it's too small. If the picture shows the actual heatshield designed for the Octavia/Golf/a3/Leon etc. Compare it to the heatshiled I am using: http://snutten.mine.nu/gallery/album67/IMG_2160

I bought it from a friend. It has hardly been used at all. At aprox

Chrille,

Have DL'd the vid, sounds good. Really like the one Dave U has though! Am thinking of the chip, but will have to see what the insurance cost will be first.

So many mods, so little money!

Sorry to keep posting, but meant to mention also like the fact that its a 'dry' rather than oil filter as regards MAF issues. And what if you put some piping from bumper vent or wheel arch up to the filter rather than risk having the filter in harms way near the possbility of puddles etc?

Anyone any thoughts?

I must say after having watched (and listened) to both Dave's and Chrille's cars, I would like my vRS to sound like Chrille's.

I think that Chrille's car makes that nice little DV-psssht-sound that makes your body full of adrenaline, it's more like this-is-a-turbo-car.

Dave's is more rallyish, sounds more like a musclecar.

Both are great though, can't argue with that :D

Cheers,

FD

Hey DaveU, do that filter do not get wet/water when is rain???

Also, what is the small filter with a hose that come front the front?

My car is a L&K and does not have that hose:confused:
