Been looking at the dash and as there's no stereo going back in then I think I'm going to put a double din dash blank panel in for my gauges and then put some aircraft style flip top switches in for the ignition and a push button start switch etc

Need a couple for the rockets and smoke screen!

Put dash back together today,just need a new centre dash vent as mines broken and waiting on flip top ignition switches and push button start switch to complete centre dash panel

Fitted a cheap tail pipe trim on as I used to have deleted tail pipe and felt it need a pipe sticking out the diffuser to look right

And screwed one of the arch extensions on,chose to do o/s/r first as it's the worst arch anyway

Not that keen on the arch yet but they'll be going on anyway as it saves messing with filler in the arches and they will tie in with the ridiculous look I want to achieve

Think it's just that I've been used to seeing my flared arches with my split rims tucked underneath and as this is totally the opposite then it will take some getting used to.

Got a free day without the wife and kids tomorrow so hopefully going to get a couple of jobs done and make some door cards

Not much of an update but I've got all four arches fitted on now and I've raised the car up fully and will lower it back down a bit once I've spaced the wheels and trimmed the arches etc but won't be as low as it once was :( and hope the look grows on me once I've spaced the wheels and lowered it back down a bit as I currently not really feeling it but there's no going back :(

Sorted out some wiring inside in perpetration for the arrival of the switches.

Made some door card templates and bought some hard board to make them out of when I get around to it.

Ordered a pair of 20 mm wheel spacers to do some working out of the wheel fitment too

And ordered a roll of 4d carbon vinyl to cover the door cards when I've made them and also going to wrap the rear of the drivers seat as it's a bit scratched and a couple of other bits of trim inside to see how it looks.

Put the centre switch panel together and popped it in

Here's the first door card,not the best finish but neither's the rest of the car haha

Still need to mount window switch and chop the lock rod down so I can manually lock/unlock if I need to

Like the door panels bud will go good with the flock dash.

Well I used a bit of the carbon vinyl I bought to wrap the back of the seat,not perfect as I've never done it before but looks better than the scratched back

Looks cool

Put some spacers on to fill the arches a bit better,still some work to do to get it sitting better but it's a start.

Finished the door cards

Had to get some enclosures to fit the window switches into

Fitted the bike mirrors I'd acquired as I fancied a change from the mk2 mirrors I'd made and didn't want to put the mk1 mirrors back on either so went for it,couldn't get a good enough view on the base plate so just drilled them into the door lol

And stuck a tow eye on,it has no purpose and is only screwed into the bumper grille so just comes out with the grille haha

Bike mirrors look cool as f#^k got to have some balls to drill the doors though.

Love the wheel n arch comb you where dead right on the wheel choice.

Can't wait to see this in the flesh any chance it'll be at ketch this Wednesday ?

Dont think its much of an issue as he's already drilled all the wheelarches and boot lid to put the arches / spoilers on

You must be brave though Dan as you could have easily touched up the paint and ran it around for another few years in its previous guise

Looking good all the same, definitely different from the norm anyway!

Cheers guys and as I've ruined it enough by painting it with rattle cans and painting over its bodywork issues and drilling holes everywhere then a couple of extra holes for mirrors ain't an issue lol

it's not a show car and never never will be and as it was never going to be sold on to anyone then it wasn't a problem to me to destroy what was once upon a time a nice looking motor

the bodywork and paint job are shocking close up but it's just a bit of fun until it dies,I don't expect it to be taken seriously haha

And I will be at the ketch meet Chris but the car won't be as it has no mot,but it's booked in for Saturday so that will be interesting haha

And Paul,your right I could of kept running it as it was cos I did love it how it sat on the splits even if it wasn't most people cup of tea,but I needed a change as it had been like that for too long and I appreciate that this look will be probably be hated more than it previous guise but I've had fun

Hopefully I can make ketch this week I'll keep an eye out for you what car will you be in.

I do think this project is mad and love the ott ness of it all.
