Project wrc wannabe

Yeah I still do all that. Can do man, think Jen messaged me about it at one point but I just forgot about it Ahaa.

You can happily keep it, I just want to drive it Ahaa. It really is awesome :p and I could do with a company project car to plot some more money into lol

Since RollinCrew' finished, you should pop to one of the unorthodox meets at St. Andrews quay. They're a lot busier than the old ones. Worth a look into if you get bored one night :)

Well the dash has been in the loft for a long time and was just going to take it to tip but seems a waste so would rather someone have it :)

And the cars not great to drive to be honest and it still needs it's clutch doing cos if you give it beans it slips, just never got around to doing it :( it's a bit of a shame that I lost interest and can't justify putting money into it because I would of liked to of gone further with it but at the moment I have no plans to :(

And we'll have to organise a meet up to give you the dash at some point, might even pop to the unorthodox meet up,when does it take place?

It's more how the car looks tbh, it's instantly recognisable. And it has the right character that I like in a car. Wish I'd had the balls to do this to the fabia but I could never do it. I think that's why I like it so much.

It's a shame really, but if it ever does need a good home to go to, there's always one here for it. Sometimes I do want a petrol in my life Ahaa. Ended up with a 9n3 tdi polo that's running 258bhp. Which is fun. But you can't beat the roar of a petrol.

The meets are on St. Andrews quay. Near mr chu's. There's one on this Sunday if you're free. 6:30pm.

Cheers Luke, it's a bit marmite lol

If it ever starts getting in my way on the back way then I'll let you know haha

Your polo sounds pretty mental too,I'll have to come and see it.

And I'll try to remember to pop by the meet if I'm free but never have much spare time these days and the thought of standing out in the cold on an evening gets less appealing at my age :)

Well I love it Haha I'll leave a parking space clear for it I'd just make it quick and leave the exterior as it is haha

Yeah the polo is insane tbf. Not very appealing to look at. But it surprises quite a few people.

I know what you mean, can get tedious stood out in the cold weather but I guess I'm still young and like that kind of stuff

Another that doesn't like the spoiler, but I am a huge fan of the track look!

The spoiler does take a lot of the disliking haha

It's cool though as I know that it's not to everyone's taste but appreciate the comment :)

Thanks for the kind words :)

Looks better in pics than close up though.

And I still can't be bothered with it and don't see that changing anytime soon so it doubt there will be any updates.

That's a real shame mate. So what's going to happen to it?

I know what its like when you put all your time and effort into a car, then slowly loose faith in it.... don't.

13 pages here, any google search for skoda brings pics of your car, and while some bits like you say, aren't to everyones taste... it works well as a package, and is miles ahead already of most other cars. People you don't even know will have seen the car around regularly, and will be wondering where its gone.

.. i've found this thread now whilst looking for pics of arch kits! The title is "to the extreme" not "got this far and can't be a2sed any more"

I suggest head down the tarmac rally car route - its almost there!

yes.. it's an evo... but it has that look of the octavia rally beast it knows it really wants to be!

-clutch and timing belt

-WRC Spoiler

-donor car octavia 4x4 can be picked up for not a lot (once winter has vanished anyway) for awd.

-green arches, lower sidesirts and bumper strip, a festival of graphics

-roof scoop

-loose some interior, add some rollcage

-keep a log of the progress

-if you haven't found the lost love, ebay with a link to this thread.. anyone who has googled skodas will have seen this car - it is a celebrity! I'll have a bid myself!

Man that rally kit looks amazing, shame mines an estate or I'd fancy it lol

Nice post by the way, I agree

Cheers guys,I honestly don't know what will happen with the car at the moment :(

I seem to have lost interest in the car scene over the last couple of years and it may be cos I'm getting older but I don't really know.

As I've said previously I always wanted to take it further but as I don't use it then it seemed pointless,as does sinking more money into it as it's worth nothing so putting many more thousands of pounds into it would be silly so would never go all out with a 4x4 etc. the car is already completely stripped out inside and although I like roll cages,it would be pricey to add one.

If I can get some motivation it will be around march/April time and if it doesn't cost a fortune to get it through mot then I'll see what happens from there.

I really like the white wheels on white car look at the moment but paintjob will need a bit more work to look something like,it will never be perfect but it's not worth spending money on a proper paintjob.

And as much as I like the look I do wonder what it could look like with all the stickers like the wrc car which would be a cheap and easy to do as my wife works for her parents in a printers and they do vinyl stickers etc.

And if I did get some motivation to do it then I would swap the spoiler for a cheap wrc rep one and change the headlights and rear lights for some standards and probably remove canards and splitter etc and go from there but who knows.

It has been a great car for my 12 years of ownership and regardless of where it ends up,I've enjoyed my time with it and the evolutions of change it's been through and I'm happy that it's had lots of positive comments over the years :)

There's still a space here for it ;) Ahaa

If you do choose to go down the Rollcage route, give me a shout. I'm sure I can do an MSA spec one for a reasonable cost to you.

-its winter, and we all get like that.. then a pimped up fiesta tries to overtake one day... and the inner nova yob breaks out and destroys him! it feels good!

-proper rally cars have rough paint... they need a rebuild and fresh layer every season! ..part of the charm

-Perfect excuse! get it stickered up as an advert for the outlaws - wins all round there!

-nah, keep the ducks and the plank, loose the boot ironing board though, give it to a kid in a saxo!

-many more await... would you shoot a pet dog just because it was getting old and you were a bit bored of it? course not...!

positivity applied above :nerd:

You never know luke,if it starts getting in my way you may find it dumped outside yours lol

But if I ever get the urge to do something with the car and want a cage I'll let you know :)

And thanks octabus,I know there's no need to get rid just because there's no love for it at the minute, like I said earlier in the thread I can't seem to part with it or break it as I do genuinely think I'd miss it if it went so that's why I leave it parked up until the day arrives that I do something with it.

Hopefully that day will come and things will progress but I make no promises haha

Looks interesting, almost looks like the green used on the limited edition's

Woo! Some progressive movement!

Quality man time well spent - I know this will look amazing!  :nerd:

Awesome! Though I do have a thing for green lol

Cheers guys, part of me wishes I'd done something sooner as this time of years not exactly great for been outside and painting car parts haha and hopefully I'll get more time on it soon and that the weather is kind to me.

And hopefully I won't have the genuine wrc owners after my blood for making a vrs into a wrc :)

Looking good. I'll see you at Ellescar or wherever its being held from now on :)

Dare you to have a dash plate made... WRC number 101 :D

Well it depends if it makes it to elsecar at doncaster lol

And I think it would need a dash plate saying fake wrc 1/1 haha

You've more chance of making it there than me anyway!

My car is in a sorry state currently :(
