Audrius Bagdonavicius???

Lol no idea who he was mate, spoke to a couple of guys there and obviously some weren't running in the challenge

:D Anyways, good run mate - The Furby seems very powerful. Practice, practice, practice.

Thinking of getting some new tyres and stripping the rear seats out next time

Found this blog tonight.

Just after halfway down the guy shows his TMC Tuning box and the stats before and after on RR :

Jetta 1.4 Tsi (160hp)

Before: 165hp, 225nm

After: 192hp, 260nm

Gain: +27hp, +35nm

**These readings were taken at DKC Jidousha (Blk 9002 Tampines Street 93, Industrial Park A #01-66. Singapore 528836), using a rolling road dyno. Please multiply all readings by factor of 1.2 to find engine power.**

Looking forward to getting mine on the rollers now, hoping for over 200bhp

Also looking at getting a straight through centre section on my exhaust just for a little more rumble, should sound something like this :

(Hope you don't mind me using your clip stu_mcl).

look forward to you posting results up :)

Ok,well she's had her first service, happy with the price and treatment from the local Skoda garage, even gave me 4 litres of oil free :D.

Fitted my new "modification" this morning, won't be to everyones taste but oh well, it relates to the TSi's ;)

Thanks goes to Jordanwaterhous (SCN) for helping with the image and old 'uns (SCN) for making it happen

Hey - just posted this on vRSy's blog. I think it will interest you ;)

Have you ever considered a set of these?

https://shop.plasmaprojects.com/product_info/2/Plasma_Direct.html

I was crazy enough to buy a set for my S.E. Furby and they have helped a lot especially on high rpms where the engine is very demanding.

The result after installation was obvious right after the cpu adjusted (something around 50khm) Then I did a remap and the effect was even more powerful.

The car will defo need a remap after installation in order to take full advantage of these puppies. In the case of turbo engines a friend with 1.8 Superb gained 10hp and 35Nm extra torque.

Unfortunately the don't come cheap and they are like icing on a cake but since you enjoy pushing your Furby thought to bring them to your attention. :)

If you want further info let me know - the guys at Plasma Direct were very helpful especially since this was a first for them. Meaning tracking down which coils are suitable for our engines.

What dials have you managed to get working with the torque app?

Ive got transmission temps, intake air temp, coolant temp, oil temp but thats about it at the moment

Will have to break mine out again and post some screen shots up mate

Nice sticker! Not managed to get a misfire yet so fingers crossed!

I'm sure a few people have been waiting on this post as it's been a long time coming!

Today I got a very lucky opportunity to get my car on the Rolling Road, I can finally report on the power my Fabia is putting out. The car was done @ Evolve Automotive (very nice bunch of guys) in Luton who have a Dyno Dynamics Rolling Road. It was run three times to get a correct readout.

Modifications on the car :

TMC Tuning Box (Setting 7)

ITG CAI (Cold Air Intake)

rr2-1.jpg

rr3-1.jpg

rollingroadbhpgraph.jpg

Final figures were :

211.6 BHP

235 lb.ft

The graph isn't as smooth as an ECU remapped car but it's still quite good I think. I have not run the car as standard on the rollers or with just the tuning box so can't comment on those.

Overall?

I am over the moon with the power the car has, I was expecting 200-205 BHP, it has gone beyond my expectations. Yes it's not as smooth as an ECU remap but it has done well to give what it has.

Nice results from the Dyno. Mines appeared today but I was out. Have to get it tomorrow :(

Why didn't you try it on the higher settings to see how much extra the box can potentially give?

  • Author

Cheers mate, need to get yours on ASAP!

Always keep it on setting 7 so didn't think to change it

rollingroadbhpgraph.jpg

Very good figures there  You can attribute 10-15Hp and probably the same with torque from the ITG Maxogen filter which would put the TMC box around 195-200Hp   Need to get an ITG fitted to mine he stock intake is really choking the power on mine. Although what mines getting done next week will blow an intake performance gain right out of the window B)

Thats a bargain and its risk free. Could do with smoothing out between 2500-4000rpm s thats abit of a flat spot, but otherwise bang on the money. The midrange seems to be where the remapped car fair better.

Do you have a graph with your AFR on? Only ask as your power drops off ALOT at 6000rpm. Most mapped cars continue to stay above 200hp till 6900rpm. It might well have got a bit hot and the car has dumped some fuel in to cool it. The AFR will show that.

Cheers Si, AFR graph below :

Will comment in a bit, but i have definitely seen better AFRs.

I think yours on Shark map was 4.0 lower

Probably why it goes through so much fuel on settings over 7?

When guys remap cars they pay massive attention to the AFR. This is the mixture within the cylinders. Leaner = less fuel, more air = more power but also more heat which can be bad and lose power. Richer is the opposite. Sometimes its worth sacrifcing that 5-8hp by running leaner and having things run cooler for longevity. When cars run hot, they dump fuel in to cool the exhaust gas temps. Simple as that.

If the car is running well on wide open throttle they should flat line at a set AFR or gradually richen(lower)up.

Both the graphs below show that the exhaust gas temps are starting to get high and the ecu is richening the mixture to cool it down, which results in that small drop in power. You can see this at 6300revs below.

IMAG0055.jpg

This is where the TMC tuning box begins to fail at its job IMO. It has tricked the car into using less fuel and running lean to make more power, the ECU then see's high exhaust temperatures in the midrange(4400rpm)and the ecu dumps fuel in to cool it down.

I reckon its running to hot low down so its losing power through heat.

They say forced induction cars should have a AFR f around 11.5 - 12.5. Depends how they want to run it i guess. You can see above that shark run leaner than revo but yours is quite a lot leaner than both in the low to midrange.

Intercooler time.....

I'd love the Pace pairing but I just can't afford it :(

Edited by VRS-Powered

Can you afford new pistons though??

  • Author

If that happens I guess I'd have to.

I am saving for some extra bits but unfortunately at the moment the spending is stopping :(

thanks for that VRS-Powered , been waiting to see the TMC on the rollers....

and I agree, an intercooler mod should help

*wonders how much overtime he needs for the TMC......
