Not much of an update but she has had her weekly bath and also removed the wind deflectors for now and added a sticker for a friends website

  • Glad you got the dash sorted in the end mate Car looks great

I'm sure that's not your best 60ft time either.

I'm thinking semi slicks would get you under 14 seconds.

How did you get a 0.26 reaction time, did you go on the yellow as I know it doesn't stay lit very long.?

I would hope they do mate :)

I have been trying different techniques for launching as the DSG never helps you launch properly. I try to get my staged lights lit before the other driver, as soon as they stage a little blue light comes on to confirm both staged. At this point I take my foot off the brake, the single yellow flash goes then I punt it as soon as possible on green. Taking my foot off the brake earlier does make the car creep but not enough to do a failed run :)

Stage 2 would be Supersprint/Miltek TBE and Revo map, I won't stick with the box for Stage 2. If more money frees up ill go for a set of semi slicks and IC.

supersprint exhausts look awesome but they are some proper dollar!!! Im thinking of going for the BCS valvetronic system with oversized 100cell race cat. Flows the same as a decat but still passes the emissions

I thought Supersprint as they are cheaper than Miltek. Only other way is buying a downpipe from Miltek or Supersprint and have a straight through centre section and custom back box made by Powerflow, thoughts?

thought the supersprint were alot more than miltek!!will have to check.

tbh i had one by pipewerx last time and it was brilliant quality and cheaper than miltek. At the time there was a big thing about Milteks having cracked welds which is why im not a huge fan of them(although their customer services are fantastic in an issue), i just think they over charge

Could try contacting remus, blueflame, piper etc. To see if they would develop one for you

Some pictures from yesterday :

santapodrwyb14apr1.jpg

Up against a MK2 Escort, this was the first and only run on setting 8 of the TMC box. I ended up running a 15.3 as I was getting reduced power.

santapodrwyb14apr2.jpg

Fabia vs M12GTO......I was ready to get annihilated! Managed to get a real good start and the GTO couldn't put the power down. It finally caught me up down the straight but only beat me by 7 tenths.

santapodrwyb14apr3-1.jpg

This MK2 Fiesta was a little rocket ship, got pulled over after our race and told he had to wear a helmet as he was going too fast!

My favourite image ever at Pod! Been wanting a shot like this for years and Ian @ Blackett Photography (www.blackettphotography.com) took this shot for me. I bought the printed version as took a photo of it with my DSLR incase you wonder why the image is a little grainy.

Thanks bud :)

Was thinking of buying a £20 motorbike helmet for sh*ts and giggles when running the 1/4 mile. Nothing like physicing someone out before the run ;)

you've got another 12mph till you need the helmet mate, so i fear whilst you might put some fear into him at first, he'll probably laugh afterwards lol. Much better for him to think its a pump skoda and then see you drive off and manage a 109.9mph terminal

Haha 7 tenths. Shows how the 1/4 mile isnt as comparable as others think. What was his terminal? My mate had one of these for his Wedding car. Wouldnt let me drive it though :@

  • Author

Terminal was 105.43 MPH, bit quicker than mine :p

is that it!!!! i expected you to say 120mph+

Theyre meant to do 0-100 in 9 seconds lol. Just looked them up std 1/4mile is 12.3@115mph

Will double check his number when the pics go up and will confirm but he was having grip problems, I left him standing off the start (and mine still span a little!).

Best pic ever!

Whats with the Pod seems to have no grip for anyone recently

You need a helmet at 110mph+.

My terminal is 104-odd so quite safe.

Will be interesting to see how cars do next weekend at the GTI festival.

Still some spaces at the Briskoda area BTW.

I'm going, but not sure about running as the queues at events can be crazy.

It does seem that way, saying that there were a couple of oil leaks on Saturday on both sides that stopped play for a while

I was going to go to GTi Spring Fest but now it's looking doubtful :(

Shame I'm at the other end of the country because I'd like to see one of these big shows. Crail usually packs out to a decent size but I imagine its no where near as big as down south.

Looking on the bright side, you get more runs in on a RWYB day.

Lol I've clocked up 62 1/4 mile runs in the car now, 58 from this year.

Clearly you are addicted! B)

Damn right!

Spent a little time today checking my oil :

And that got me thinking about the ITG kit and how I couldn't see where the cold air was coming from so it was changed from this :

To this :

Power delivery seems to be smoother, will have to wait until another Pod trip to see if it's made any difference.
