Pricey but looking at it well worth it...Can't stop staring at it...!!!

Looking forward to seeing pics of this on the car

The wheel is a really nice touch mate, well worth the money, ime currently considering wheels as we speak

I'm also thinking of getting a set of new wheels - I love the vRS ones but my issue is that the car gets confused for an vRS all the time.

I was considering a set of racing wheels like OZ Superturismo or Speedline Corse. For now I'm leaning towards Braid Fullrace.

I will of course paint them because they come only in white, gold or silver. What color? Haven't decided yet.

That steering wheel is stunning. Xxr 527 in the dark chrome will look amazing on your car I think.

Still can't find them :/

Still can't find them :/

Which size do you want them in?

I got my sources that I can take a peek through...

XXR 522 17 x 8 or 8.25 (ET35 - 5x100) in Black Chrome - if they could provide info regarding availability and cost that would be great for starters.

Thanks man really appreciate it.

I like the idea of lightweight race wheels and the look of the is spot on, but have a good look around first!

Months ago I saw the work of these guys "Cars Dream" - http://leatherinteriors.carsdream.com/

What really impressed me was their custom steering wheels work. They can give to any wheel a new shape, reduce its diameter if you like and finally dress it in any kind of leather or material you can imagine. Check out the gallery for more examples: http://leatherinteriors.carsdream.com/index.php/en/realizacje

First you need to contact them here: [email protected]

Provide them with a picture of your steering wheel and a list of what you want to be done to it.

My list was like so:

1. Flat bottom.

2. Black piano lack for top and bottom

3. Ergonomic form

4. Napa perforated leather for the sides

5. Red stitching

other options include

- Center line

- Carbon

- Reduced Diameter

they will send you a quote for the job and require you to wire the money before shipping anything to them. I propose you provide them the steering wheel yourself, it will be much cheaper.

I wired the money, found a used steering wheel at the scrappy and shipped it over to the address I was given in which I included again the list with the requirements (just in case).

I was initially quoted 4 weeks to dispatch but it took far longer than that. To be honest at some point I got bored waiting but the steering wheel showed up today and that feeling simply vanished.

I can't tell you how stoked I am with the end result, it really was worth waiting for.

The pictures talk for themselves. I will post more pics soon as I install it.

Using the wheel has been a good and a not so good experience.

The good stuff: it looks fantastic in the cabin. Except that it matches all the plastics I painted gloss black it gives the car a more definite sporty and upmarket look due to the wheel's shape and great craftsmanship. The leather sculpted grips are great holding on to and give you a much better feel of the car plus the flat bottom helps more with coming in and out of the car as I tend to position the wheel low.

The not so good stuff: You need a bit of time to get used to the more sculpted shape especially when you make tight turns or while you park. That is fine though, as I said it is just a matter of getting used to the new shape. What is hard for me to get used to is the top part. Let me elaborate. Where the hand grips are (leather part) that is the thickness of my original steering wheel. From there though and upwards as you will notice the shape gets wider making the top bit very thick and thus awkward to hold on to. I wish now that the whole wheel was 5-7mm thinner to be perfect for my liking.

In the meantime I've sent an email to the people who made it in order to find out what can be done and what further costs are involved. I hate myself now for being picky. Anyways I will drive the car around for a week before I take any hasty decisions

Last Friday my wheels from Braid came through.

This was my first time ordering racing wheels and I really liked the fact that I could choose every single detail regarding material, bolt pattern, offset, width, and even color. I finally went for the Fullrace A, 5x100, 7" with ET+32 in Titanium color.

The Gigaros I had on were 10.6kilos each. These are at 7.8kilos and the difference was felt plus I removed the spacers too now that the offset is closer to what I like so that was further weight off.

The color came out great even though I would probably liked it a bit darker but what is done is done. The logos on the wheel are also a very nice touch.

To complete the look I will replace the standard acorn bolts that it came with, with some lug nuts in black like these http://www.dsgperformance.com/assets/images/Products/Project%20KICS/project%20kics%20sr48%20chrome%20black%20open%20ended%20lug%20nuts%20universal%20dsg%20performance.jpg

Below some pics from yesterday's escape to the mountains for some driving / sightseeing.

Soon as I install the lug nuts I will post some better pics.

Thanks man! :)

Shame I didn't go for the ET30 which they proposed initially. I got scared that it would be too far out but it seems that it does need a bit more.
Will test and bring them out 5mm more using some old disc centers.

very nice car..and wheels too..

can i ask you something?do you sell the old gigaro alloys??

Thanks Fotis. Yes I do. The set for 550euros including the badges.

Hi

Love your new steering wheel. A couple of questions:-

Who did you get it from?

And how hard was it to fit?

As you have already responded to me, you know that I have been thinking of changing my wheel on my 2012 Monte to the latest version.

But I must admitt that your new wheel does look a 10 times better than standard.

All the best and please carry on with your modding!!

All info about the steering wheel is here: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/223753-32kofdata-fabia-sport-mkii/?p=3749523

Fitting it is relatively easy but still needs care - trickiest part is removing the airbag by unclipping it with a flat bottom screwdriver from the back.

You need to turn it 90 degrees and then follow this video that shows were the clips are located and what motion is needed to unclip the hinges https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uC0eT__2a4o

Then you have to unclip the plug of the airbag and finally you need to unscrew the steering wheel. No keys in the ignition during the procedure, you don't want to deploy it in your face during installation. Some even disconnect the battery to be on the safe side.If you feel scared doing it then give it to someone else who knows what he does - it will be a 10min job tops.

The custom wheel is expensive, really depends what you ask them for but it will be one of a kind which what really matters.

sent me your phone on messenge.i want to buy your wheels..i wait my friend

Darker is definitely better.

Keep up the excellent work. B)

Looks excellent, more or less the same position in the arch as my wheels, getting it right really helps the lines of the car loads.

With 15mm and 17mm spacers that would mean my wheels are equivalent of ET24 rear and ET26 Front
