In all seriousness I hope it stays dry as I have spare wheels with run flats on them!!

Like a go kart in the dry and a death trap in the wet

I'm driving up there, on track, and driving home on my current wheels. Loads of tread on them and I don't envisage any serious wear from the mornings couple of sessions out and a bit of timing, :)

Yeah it'll prob be ok but it'd be nice not to bugger mine up

The track seems smooth unlike many runway based tracks, Hopefully will be kinder on tyres, We'll see. I'm only in it for the crack, not aiming to break records . trash my car. Its got to drive me home 250 odd miles after :D

I'm driving from York, ragging it on track and driving back. No concerns lol

Always best to get the excuses in early.

I'm trying to think up some racing driver ones too. ;)

Packing the car for then weekend now. About the only spares I am bringing is 2 litres of water/methanol in case I use up the tank during the morning.

All I'm doing now is an anti-rain dance (not pretty) hoping that monday's weather front doesn't hit Bedford until about 2pm. :D

can that be found on youtube?

Thinking I might bring my winter tyres to travel back on as the fronts are getting a little low. Did have a set planned but the details given by the seller was not correct! D'oh.

I dont think my mate can come to film/take pictures as he has a paying shoot which has been sprung on him at the last moment which is a shame.

Really hoping the weather does not turn bad.

Weather not looking good for the actual timed part of the day. Might not have started for the 1 hour of practise sessions, but then its tough to tell when its actually going to come across Bedford. It is in the east, and the weather is coming from the west.... Glad I'm not on 888s anyway. :D I can see bossfox unhitching the trailer and using the yeti for the timed bit. :D

I’ve now ditched the ’OCTAVIA’ badge from the tailgate, that could make all the difference with less drag and lower weight - I might even unscrew the aerial on the day, unless it affects the reception of Radio 4

I won't say the thought hasn't crossed my mind... :D

Just out of intrest doesanyone know how much it would cost to:

a) have a passenger?

b ) a second driver?

Cheers

Not sure on the above. One thing I was thinking of was keeping stuff out the car dry- Anyone bringing a gazebo? LOL. I've not brought anything like a tarp to keep bits out of my boot, etc dry whilst its raining.... especially my VCDS laptop,

.

Weather in Northampton is good today :) fingers crossed for tomorrow :)

Check the forecast. ;) The brown stuff is hitting the fan in the morning, just not sure when it will hit the Bedford area. Hopefully after 1pm. If it rains I will just have to be more careful. Simples.:D

It can all be left in whichever car I'm not using Jason.

Locked away safe and sound.

Ideal, thanks. Just some random items. Picked up a load of Roomster/Fabia items from Bristol yesterday which are just rolling around in the car now :D

Don't know about passengers, but a 2nd driver is probably not allowed on the timed runs, as it's another booking effectively.

And using the same car and sharing over the hour practice will just give the driver less time or cook the brakes I'd have though. It's going to need a rest anyway.

Are you sure there is not pit garages? Looks like there is in pictures

I have a gazebo now any way for the misses to shelter under

Pit garages would be cool :D

I've done a load of bike track days through MSV and focused events and the generally have garages open and for use but not 100% sure if bedford have them, I've looked at pictures of the place and it looks like they have?????

It does have pit garages.

You can see them in the footage at the beginning of the MSV car run to show the lap layout.

Thought so but thanks for confirming either way I have the gazebo for shelter if needed see you at 8 am

Am I the only one hoping for rain then? Wet tracks usually level the playing field somewhat because cars with lots of horsepower can't get the power down etc...
