Shell VPower 5p a litre off

Featured Replies

Shell are doing 5p a litre off VPower this Valentines day so you can treat your car (or save the ££ for yourself if you drink this anyway)

How much dearer is it than standard fuel anyway? and does it actually work?

Bugger filled up yesterday!

as per normal the tank is full of V power goodness  €1.42 a litre here

I just filled up today. If only I'd known could have saved a bit.

I'll be having some of that! Perfect timing as just enough juice left to last until then :)

£1.43 here

Just checked and my local Shell and it should be doing the offer. :D I filled up last Saturday and currently have half a tank so might just fill up on Tuesday (I would normally do on the Friday). The last time I filled it was £1.41(.9) for normal and £1.49(.9)for VPD.

P.S. Should this thread really be in the Octy 2 section?

Why not?

By the way Web Ferret, well done, thanks.

Did them both today as well B)

Thanks for the info - was getting quite excited as mine is nearly empty and could last till Tuesday!

Checked list of participating garages (see attached file) and there are none in Herefordshire or Worcestershire meaning a 60 mile round trip into darkest Gloucestershire for me!

Just not worth it. Pity.

Make use of it of you can guys.

... which means that Momentum 99 will still be cheaper, only by not quite so much.

I find it staggering the difference between 99 and Vpower/BP Ultimate - can be anywhere up to about 10p/litre here

Cheers web ferret and kb photo just checked the link and my local shell station is on the list only ever used v-power in my vRS petrol so the saving is much appreciated as times are tough but the best cars deserve the best drink

Fick - I just filled up this afternoon!

Yeah it does but not a massive scale, mine normally get this or normal shell fuel. I wouldt put the supermarket crap in if you paid me

But typical, my local shell is not covered :(

Also must have inadvertently filled the expansion tank - would explain how I managed to fit 49 litres in when the gauge was halfway in the red section. Threw my mpg calculations out the window - has always been about 39 / 40mpg, but calculated 30mpg yesterday (initially put it down to the cold weather and running with underinflated tyres - being a retard I'd read on here about the Fabia having tyre pressure sensors - was stupidly expecting the maxidot to tell me when air was needed - d'oh!!).

I wasn't expecting a £68 bill for filling up either :'( ! I've since done 123 miles and the needle on the fuel gauge is still at full.
