Trunk Dome Light For Rear Seat Lighting

Featured Replies

My car does not have rear dome light or cluster.

There is a baby seat on the rear and needed lighting in the dark to see the belt clips etc.

I've removed the trunk dome light and fitted to the car roof liner. No need to remove roof liner.

I've used steel wire for guidance first, to find a way for wiring. Then as you see ;)

You can also find alternatives on ebay, very cheap ;) I've ordered a dome light to replace it from local dealer.

irfant use [ img ] [ /img ] at the start and the end of the pics cause they don't show up.

By the way that is not a bad idea at all. I was planning to place another dome unit but I guess that would be more expensive and more tideous to install.

Yeah I know - the guys have been making changes to the forum over the weekend so that might be the reason. They are still tweaking stuff so some features might not work.

Thank you Adam, the full editor does not work at the moment, I see coded version when I try to edit :)

That is a great idea. Does it provide enough light? My interior is all black and I could use some more light.

Yes the lighting is enough for me. Also on ebay you can find alternatives.

If not, you can get the LED one from superskoda

Priceyyyy pair :)

Says it doesn't fit the Fabia:

sorry, nothing for Fabia II currently..

Looking good.

I was trying to find away to fit another interior light (same as the front one) for the rear. :)

Doesn´t it mean that you have to get a new rooflining...? Looks like the lining is shaped after the light.

I think you are right. The roof there looks like it has a shape and it looks deeper in order to allow the unit to fit properly.

The LED dome for the trunk from superskoda is the same for Roomster, Fabia II and Octavia II.

I have installed the one from superskoda in my Roomster and it works perfect.

On eBay if found this, and I believe it is the same as superskoda.

Don't know why Skoda does not fit as standard.

This is the one I fitted.

It has the usual three functions

Off

on when door opens off when door closes

on manually

I'm wanting to do this mod, how do you connect the wires from the rear lights to the dome light?
