Monte Carlo 1.6 Tdi Cr Dpf 105 Bhp Remap & Dpf Removal

Featured Replies

Ditto, i am keeping an eye on this myself, i have the 75bhp version and when my warranty runs out in October next year i am in line for a nice re-map and maybe even a DPF removal.... lets hope the teccies get their laptops sorted out and have come up with a solution to the encrypted ECU, Bloody hell if Bletchley Park could crack the Engigma code during the war then i am sure someone can crack a simply ECU !!!

  • http://www.tmcmotors...arProducts.aspx they have your car listed, TMC tuning boxes have a good record with the fiat and audi forums, and vrs-powered has had his vRS on the RR with one at 211 bhp...

  • Thanks for all the advice and sorry for the late reply i've been ripping down the rest a bedroom ceiling after part of it collapsed! I'll enquire @ amd on Thursday and let you all know what they say.

  • will be very interested to see the final results, I believe you may be making a good approximation of the mark I vRS in mark II form

The ecu code has been broken a while ago on the 1.6cr tdi engines. There is stage 1 stage 2 and stage 2+ with dpf off available for them already. The 1.6cr engines respond really well to tuning :)

This is a graph from a 90 BHP 1.6CR Fabia, with a Revo map.

Nice curve and a transformation of the car (that is so cliche'd, but it really is)

So with a remap we're talking PD130 power but at the same time hold the power for longer up the rev range.

Very nice. :)

agreed, thats a very FAT line, alot of power held for alot of revs... must be very drivable!

Is it even legal to remove a DPF in the UK?

I'm sure it would not be here - or at least I would not not be allowed in to Frankfurt without one.

yes it is :) Jasons mongrel is still taxed on the fact that it "was" a PD100 lol.. its now running circa 270bhp with NOS and a Q7 turbo, and smokes like a very smokey thing ;) (straight through side exhaust!)

edit: there is talk of making a law like you have in Germany that anything you fit must be "TUV" approved (or a UK similar situation) nothings happened yet though... not sure that would change the fact you can still remove the DPF though ;)

I certainly notice a lot more smokey diesels when I travel back to the UK now than you see here.

Since they introduced the rules about having to have a EURO 4 sticker in your windscreen to enter several German cities.

I will have to ask my friendly Kiwi mechanic what the legal situation is here, as I would be tempted to remove the DPF if legal as I only need 1 car that can drive into Frankfurt. I don't mind much for out of town driving, but it is not very sociable to belch clouds of black smoke where lots of people and cars live together.

Hi, anyone had a remap of the 1.6 TDi with the DSG box yet? I understand that the Rapid has a 90bhp option with DSG, and that any of the 1.6 TDis can make 135bhp. Would the 7 speed DSG box take it? I know that in the Octavia the 1.6 TDi 7 speed DSG is 105bhp but the 2.0 TDi 150 comes with the 6 speed DSG.

the 7 speed DSG takes 180bhp in my vRS and has taken 250bhp in sy's tuned vRS ;)

It might not be a great difference in Power,  the DQ200 might be the same externally, but they are for different applications,

different Map/Softwear.

Possibly fine, but you need to check with someone with in depth knowledge of them.

The DQ200 that are being recalled and not the same as the DQ200 used in the vRS,

they are the ones use up to 122 or 140 BHP i believe.

** EDIT,**

DOH, scub that, as i have just read more they are mentioning extending from the 2008-2011 Sept on the ones on higher output engines. & in places they say the lesser output ones were not effected.

But again check that out.

See the reference to the '1.6 TDI' and the upgrade they offer.

Don't forget the DSG 7 has a torque limit of 250nm and is why the 6 speed wet clutch DSG is fitted to more powerful cars.
