What is it all about anyway?

I'm not very techy when it come sto computer stuff but if i can help raise the group rank I will LOL!

Steve

Just joined !!

We welcome all new folding members, the more we can get that stay active the better. The blobs on screen mean its working and doing its stuff.

Can I run it on my work computer and my home laptop or is it a case of just keeping it on one?

Thanks :)

As many as you like, using the same username. I have it running on 15 machines, and BPM has even more.

Yup I've loads. In fact I've lost count. I really should check up on them, wonder how they're doing...

So does it do a different project on each computer or does it know about the one on the other computer and join in? and will it save it every so often so when the machine is shut down it stores it for next time?

Just wondered as it has been crunching away all yesterday and it got to 250.1500 and when i restarted it, it went back to 0? any suggestions?

what's the best settings on the configuration box?

Ben :)

Each machine will run independantly, and it should checkpoint every 15 mins or so. Usually the cause of going back to zero is restarting during the checkpoint or a untidy shutdown.

Just done my first WU!!!  :woohoo: :huep:

Getting on with the second!!

Just done my first WU!!!

Congrats mate. It's a slippy slope this folding business.

I find myself sat looking at spare machines thinking 'that could boost my 24hour average'

Not worth a new tread of its own but

Woo-Hoo

How much power does it consume on a laptop? I don't mind having it on at home if it's not too much?

I don't worry aboutt eh work one though!!

Now up and running again on a new machine, hopefully. Program installed and working (not very fast, but it's working).

  • 1 year later...

Signed up and working.

Has anyone else noticed how few members are actually doing this? Time for a recruitment drive I think...
