  • The R35 is going soon. It's great... But also a bit boring unless you are doing something you shouldn't be. And everyone knows what it is, so they don't want to play. Plus, although it's slower I h

  • No, I found a very cheap 1.2 petrol with high milage at an independant dealer. Doesn't even have electric windows. Perfect! When I mentioned the car's future it was suggested by the dealer that a

I just had a crazy idea. Could you make it a hybrid? Ie have an electric motor to power the rear wheels? Still making it 4wd but also keepin the ecomentalists happy!

Mmmm... carbon fibre. :)

Two front seats for the project.

Awesome. I really cannot wait for this to take shape. :)

It's going to be quite a wait Harry... but worth it in the end I hope.

Very pleased with the seats.

Really comfortable and 4kg each with the pads.

I had the blue piping added to match the blue piping on the Fabia VRS SE leather seats, because it's going to be Race Blue.

So I don't get the honour of wrapping it for you? Lol

Those seats look awesome

Love the seats! Nicely finished :-)

Seats are gorgeous, they look really........ Erm, uncomfortable :D

Very nice!

Page 7 & 8 are showing but I cant access them. Wondering if posting a reply will get me on to the last page?

I was just wondering on the possibilities of converting a FWD vRS to 4x4 using a scout rear differential and saddle tank etc. It's been done in Greece...

Already been looked in to Harry ( I think we even spoke about it once). In fact a certain person even bought a rear subframe to do this very conversion and I nearly went ahead with the crazy idea but moving house, sorry money pit put rest to those plans.

Speak to Ben at Shark if your serious.

Just a little update:

The final look of the vehicle has been decided on.

You can't please everyone, but this is what I want...

I am aiming for the look of a lightly modified (like my diesel) VRS SE in Race Blue.

Standard VRS bodykit, standard Fabia wheelbase and track.

Handy thing with the SE is they came with rear privacy glass, which will help hide the alterations and lack of back seats.

So it'll look nice, but not draw too much attention.

The Rallycross car is not being chopped up. So I'll need to put that up for sale at some stage.

Now on the lookout for an accident damaged BAM engined TT quattro...

I think I may have found a carbon fibre bonnet and boot from the land of all things Skoda.

That is just brilliant

Two ways I think cars should be modified. Wolf in sheeps clothing...or going the whole hog and ending up with something like this...

That said, that's not exactly subtle to be able to surprise people. :giggle:

Have you decided on whether to keep your 09 SE as it is and use the cheap 07 as a base, or to chop up the SE?

I'm keeping the SE.

Just can't chop up (possibly) the last one ever registered. Feels wrong.

Fortunately the 1.2 Classic is an 07 plate, so when it's in Race Blue it'll have an 07 plate like other SEs. Helps the disguise... ;)

Best decision all round I think

Can't wait to see this progress :)

Do you know at this stage when work is likely to start?

I prefer the idea of a sleeper than a wide track rally copy. With it being an 07 you'll never tell the difference on the road just by looking at it. You can't chop up the '09 that would be criminal!

I need a BAM engined Audi TT manual quattro.

Once I find one of those with a prang to the body the 07 will be getting the boot floor chopped out within a week or two.

As soon as there are pics I'll post them up.

My welding is not so good, so Jabbasport are working that out for me, they've got the experience and have done a 4x4 VAG conversion before.

They also have access to 4 wheel alignment equipment. Makes a lot of sense to me.

This has been quite hard for me, seperating what I want to do and what to get done by other people.

But I have to accept that I don't have all the skills to do a job like this myself. Plus I am trying to run a business which gives me a reasonable living and I do actually like seeing my son after work...

So Jabbasport have kindly offered to get involved and help with the build.

We had a good long chat last week up in their office and they've got some great ideas about making a very capable track car, rather than just a car for boasting about bhp figures. :)

It's going to take some time as I'm not just paying to have it done pronto.

But it's going to be a lot of fun when it's finished! :D

Nice!

Two SE's will be confusing for the neighbours, like your two red Yeti's! :)

I can check how much a re-spray would be at my mates work - they've got a contract with Mclaren and just been given three (3) MP4-12C to paint! :D

What's a road worthy BAM (225bhp) engined TT go for? £5000+

Found quite a few on Edition38, its knowing where to look :)

A bent one would be around half, maybe a little more.

But I need the whole car for the 4x4, engine, box, electrics etc...

Same you're not looking for a mk2 TT-RS that would be even more epic

If you havent tried already, www.copart.co.uk sells damaged vehicles, you may have already been looking on there though :L
