Horrible wet bank holiday

Featured Replies

Will do mate! The compound is huge, take a look on google maps and search for Port of Tyne. I see transporters rolling out there everyday loaded with nice new cars. It's a Volkswagon UK compound so it's full of VW, Audi, Seat and Skoda. The gym I go to is right next to it and you often get the transporters parked up in the car park over night after they have been loaded up.

Probably wasn't me that you saw. I'm on the north side of the river (quite literally) but sometimes go through the tunnel if I am travelling southwards. There are quite a few white ones round here now but my last one was the first. Mine has REVO decals on the rear windows and a black grill surround so keep an eye out for me.

Where are you then?

I'm in Whitburn - and no I'm not a Macum!!!

Disclaimer - A lot of my mates are Macums, but I'm not (Just to stop the barage of abuse!)

I'll keep an eye out for you.

It's only delayed by myself to be honest, I had an emotional day yesterday, basis being I was hit from the rear on the hard shoulder of the motorway by a 72 year old lady who had fell asleep!!!

It has knackered my back which was confirmed yesterday as I need an operation!!!

So wanted a fresh day and enjoy Monday collecting my new car!!!!

I have said this before but it's a real pleasure and joy owning a vrs when you see owners who have owned or to own real special cars like s4,s or rs500!!! Lotus escorts and g60,s and a few Porsche,s!!!!!

Ah mate, hope all is ok!

Looks like my car is still at port, had a call from the dealer this morning. Probably be Thursday or Friday for collection. Maybe later if it doesn't get on a transporter by then.

Same here I'm a Janner (work that one out) lived here for 22 years. It's not an Octy I'm waiting for it's an S4 avant.

Nothing wrong with VRs's, my lads mates took the proverbial out of him when he told them i was getting one, but now they don"t, I'd have another one especially if VAG show some balls and give it the same engine as their top Golfs and SEATs.

Nice one tim put some pictures up please we would all like to see

That is poor that the wrap was coming off!! The money you paid for it as well,, I won,t be rude and ask how much you made!!

The xfs is a brilliant car, I could not believe it was a diesel!!! Not up setting anyone, we had one on test, here we go loose all my friends now!!!, I am in the police, and in an emergency responding situation it didn,t take long to hit the limiter, but the build quality was superb you could not tell,,

Do you think they might put a big engine in one, longdog??

There is more than enough choice with the powerful golf and Leon

Andy

I'd like to think so, the only problem would be that (in my opinion) the Octy would steal a hell of a lot of sales from the other brands within the group. A VRS with 260 bhp as standard would tempt a lot of people away from the Leon and Golf.

I could never condone racing on the public highways but if we could find a private road, I agree it would be very interesting!

  • Author

Yes but what's the saying listen to the buyers!!

Does sound nice though a 260 bhp estate!! I know your monster has that and more, but would be a seller for skoda

I can honestly say I really do rate the vrs against all the semi exotic stuff I've owned/driven. Sure it's not as fast as the Hsv etc etc but it's real world quick and still has enough fun.

Ok I've grown older and 'disposable' income was disposed of with the nappies.... Vrs tsi fits the 'sensible' company / family image.

Very competent all rounder at bargain basement price.
